I think that there can only be two reasons:

1) People (perhaps in India) actually enjoy the drama
OR
2) This forum. Perhaps the SRGMP team comes online (not just this forum) and sees all these posts discussing their dramas, whether it be the love story, or the HR vs. Vishal match ... they simply read the Topic Title and don't bother actually reading the whole posts. So they think that people enjoy these ridiculous extras that get put in the show.

I also think that the Vishal/HR drama is purposefully done because they think that the show will be boring without it. However, it would be nicer if they actually discussed the singing of the contestants, rather than bring their own egos into it.

Agree with you if they make it a pure singing contest like it used to be in the beginning, lot of people will enjoy it especially the intellectuals and the so called "classes"But now these reality shows have become big buisness and I feel all this drama is added to involve the common man and the so called "masses". I think it is not an easy thing to create a drama which can be a hit with the masses..Zee has been able to achieve it...
