On a new note
Parthiv Gohil's big break in Bollywood came with 'Devdas' where he lent his voice for the background score of the film. But it's 'Saawariya' that he is more excited about as this is where he is making his debut as a playback singer.
He says, "I debut as a playback singer with this film. And to debut with a playback for Ranbir Kapoor - who belongs to the first family of the Indian film industry - is more than I could have asked for. Moreover, Ranbir is also making his debut with this film."
Parthiv has sung the track 'Yun Shabnami Pehle To Nahi Thi Chandni' in the film. "It is a nice romantic and groovy number," he shares. Despite Parthiv having given the voice for Ranbir, he doesn't consider himself to be anywhere in the league.
"This is just the beginning. I am now entering a new and big field, the doors to which I had been long waiting for to be opened," he says modestly adding, "I want to explore this medium and sing lots of songs as a playback singer."
Apparently, after 'Devdas', Parthiv got several offers to sing for Bollywood films. "But they all belonged to the classical genre. I wanted to do sing different types of songs and not restrict myself to just classical singing. Hence, I didn't take those offers even if it meant that I will have to wait for many more years to become a playback singer."
Incidentally, Parthiv is a product of the singing reality show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'.
"Life is a musical journey. I want to live each and every moment of my life for music," he signs off.
