Mentor’s Thread - Finals

Welcome to the Grand Finale Mentors Thread !!This thread is the last and final Mentor's thread of this series.

In this round we have two themes - participants have to submit one song for each theme....

All your entries should be submitted to your respective mentors on time so that he or she can post the songs here on the last day of Grand Finale submissions by the deadline. The result of Semi Final Round will be announced AFTER the songs of Grand Finale are posted. The ones who are eliminated, their songs will not be sent to the judges. And if for any reason the last date gets extended then the results will also be posted on that extended last date.

Does the happy/masti song have to necessarily be from a Black &White film? For example, Mere Mehboob is a colour film but is still from the Golden Era.

Yes it'll hav to be from a black & white movie and not just golden era. 😊

This time I would like to make a strong appeal that the results must be declared long before the submission of songs for the final round. There should be at least a week's gap between the results and submission of the songs. Now there are just 5 singers left, so I am sure that the task of judging can be speedier. I really don't want the contestants to take so much trouble and then find that their songs are not needed. Please do something.

I hv asked for the results by 25th for the same reason. hope we maintain that date for the announcement of results. I'll try my best to get it done. but then there's a saying....Man proposes and God disposes 😆

Which is why "Kal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so ab". Contingency planning is a must. 😳

We have a very interesting situation from the results of the Semi Final round. Two participants are tied at #3 place! But as per the format of the contest only 3 can go to the finals.

The coordination committee after having a discussion among them has decided for two options but also want the views of the mentors on this and then take a final decision.

We will hold a tiebreaker round where the two participants will be given a common song to sing. They have to submit just one antara and one mukhda of the song by the stipulated date. After receiving the result of the tie breaker we will name the second eliminated participant so that only three participants reach the finals. But this will need to be done very soon in a very limited time for practice.

The second option we declare both the tied contestants as tied second runners up and go ahead with the rest two in the finals.

The mentors are requested to put down their views. The co-ordination team will take a final decision after going thru all your views. But plz do so soon so that the matter can be resolved by tomorrow 26th.

I like the idea of the tie-breaker.

Me too same as Tanaz. Tie breaker would be the better and maybe most fair option. That is if at all the co-ordination team feels four cannot go to the finals.

I think all the four should go to the Finals and let there be one final decision about who is the winner. It's just taking too long and I am not really in the mood for one tie breaker followed by one final round - let's not prolong this contest any further. Let's declare a winner on the stipulated date. Hope others will agree...
