Amanat going downhill???

I have to say that Amanat is one of my favourite contestants on the show, but I feel that his singing is not as good as it was at the start of the show. 😕

I remember his first performance Mitwa was incredible, and other performances like Yeh hosla, Kadi aah mil saawal, mora saiya mo se bole na, were totally mindblowing (Judges favourite words!!!), that I could not stop listening to them on youtube 👏

However, even though he's singing well now, that quality is not there any more, otherwise he would have really stood out from the others, is it because of distractions, or perhaps the songs don't match his voice???

What do you guys think?

I will not say that his singing is going downhill but his song selection is. Now he is singing more popular songs. And now a days popular songs are mostly crappy.

You are right, initially he selected classical based songs and it gives me goose bumps everytime I listen to them.

He is selecting popular songs because the contest is based on public voting. He is also getting a lot more votes because of this reason (Koi Mil Gaya- Topper). The public going wild equals more votes.

My take is that he has already proven himself to be a superb singer with a solid classical base. But now he has to prove he can entertain, which he has. he is the whole package 👍🏼

I don't think so. His singing's just gone more to the popular, upbeat style, for more votes.

Agree with u..Amanat is choosing such songs which are famous among the general mass..How many people do u think will be remembering his 'Kaadhi aa mil'?? Though it is his best performance, I would say or even 'Ye hosla' or 'Saawan bito jaye'..Only people having a ear for classical/ghazals will vote for such songs(again the number is very less)..And remember he was in bottom 3 and even mentors started showing less appreciation because of his repeatedly choosing same type of songs..I think Vishal once pointed out that also.
So I think what he is doing is right if he has to think of his goal.(of getting more and more votes and make an impression upon the general public)

No, I don't think he is going downhill at all! He is actually getting better. He's like an all-in-one complete package.😆 He totally rocked Koi Mil Gaya Saturday and left the audience and everyone going crazy. And plus he's at #1 for the second time now in a row! So fantastic job to Amanat!👏

it's not second time consecutively in a row....aneek was first last week......amanat was first the week before that..and aneek was first the week before that...get your facts straight!!!!

I totally agree. It is the song selection which is going downhill and not his singing, but he has no option since it is public voting and he has to sing more popular numbers in order for people to vote for him. I remember very well, that many used to criticize him earlier for singing only sentimental songs.

I am kicking myself for not having recorded his songs at SRGMP ME challenge. That was purely on judges merit and he sang amazing songs then. How he used to wow the judges everytime with his songs!
