I wish to know what SRGMP expects from the contestants. Is it versatility alone or consistency as well? What about performance and voice quality? With the female contestant, Sumedha has been the most versatile and consistent while Amaanat in the male contestants. But what is really the requirement of SRGMP Challenge, 2007?

no he wasn't. all he ever sang were punjabi songs (probably with one exception here or there). if you watched the part where they were showing his journey, you would have realized exactly how "versatile" he was.

okay, fine, i was off with the number of non-punjabi songs harpreet sang. however, just because he sang a few non-punjabi songs doesn't make him versatile. versatility isn't just singing various different songs. versatility is being able to sing different songs and being able to sing them well. in my eyes, harpreet only nailed the punjabi songs really well. for most of the other songs, i don't think he did well. he added this sad/depressing sorta feel to them all, the type many classic punjabi songs have. in other words, i don't think his singing reflected the type of emotions the non-punjabi songs required. he only really got into the punjabi songs.

therefore, in relation to other contestants, harpreet was far from versatile. that's probably one of the reasons he was voted out.

Sorry Harpreet was very versatile. He was forced to sing Punjabi songs as no one supported him other than people from that state, he continued thinking that he would get maimum support from Punjab. otherwise he is very versatile.
