Poonam: A wallflower?

Poonam, "pocket-sized powerhouse" but still a wallflower...

Even as the stories of her underprivileged background surfaced, we were in awe of Poonam's vocal ability and versatility. Week after week, she is improving and her wide vocal range and quality has enabled her to make any song "her own". Close resemblance to that of Jaspinder Narula's voice, she is able to get you moving to the item numbers she has performed and melt your heart; bringing tears into your eyes with the sad songs(e.g. Tose Naina Lage). But is she getting enough credit is what I have been wondering all afternoon watching all her videos/episodes on youtube? She sang so well in the qawali round, but it was simply brushed off, though I am glad when mentor Vishal told her she sang extremely well. Mauli can't hold a stick to her. Sorry to disappoint the Mauli fanbase, even in comparison to Sumedha, her vocal range & quality is very "shrill" & "shriek". Poonam can easily sing a fast number and that was proved easily with her rendition of "Hungama". All I recall Mauli doing is screaming a lot and stretching her voice, not brushing aside her "Mayya Mayya" rendition was top notch performance. Poonam is from a different background and you can see in all the episodes how she's looking all lost & isolated in her own space. There's definitely due credit for her. I hope it's not because she's not as trendy & stylish like the other ladies in the competition. She is just not as outspoken. Trust me, listen to her Der Na Ho Jaye without watching the video… could you deny her playback singing ability & talent? She needs more recognition! And she doesn't even need sympathy votes or Ismailji to say a few words for her!

I can hardly find any posts relating to her as compared to Mauli & Sumedha... Just thought I voiced out what I felt. No offence everyone :)

Agree with u i want she to b in top 3. her voice is God gifted

i'm sure everyone is aware of how talented poonam is...all the mentors have praised her whenever she sang well...her 'der na ho jaaye' was outstanding 👏

Well atleast public recognises her & she in top 3 in voting for the last few weeks.

I also think the same way, and I think she is the best one fitting shoes of Asha Bhonsle...

Poonam is the best singer on the show...
and she will win the Title....

I think she's a really good singer too, and Hope fully she'll make it to the top 5 😳

I am wishing she goes very far in this competition, may be to top three. Whereas all the focuses are on the male participants (and why not, aneek, Raja, Amanat, Mussarat everyone is brilliant on their days), Poonam is definitely the exceptional voice and a symbol of hard work and dedication. He has given very good performances continuously, wish she stays in the music industry for a very long time and this platform gives her enough opportunities in the future.

She cannot be compared to Mauli, they are like day and night apart, but yet I fear that Mauli will get ahead of her, because the Indian population are so stupid, they have lost their hearing, have become stone deaf where Mauli is concerned.

if you r really interested in good singing then why watch srgmp..go and listen to lata/asha cd..

if you watch srgmp then Mouli is a must to bear with..as this is new age singing.. where the singer has to move away his mouth from the mic with a style and then bring it back close to it to scream again...
