Its not that I'm a Mauli fan or anything, but I think the huge amount of
opinions about her make her the most talked about singer, and this is to
her benefit.. I also think there is a lot of prejudice against her for being
pretty, sexy and an NRI - But she's gonna be in the top three .... when she
plays to her strength nobody except for Mussarat when he's in his Sufi
element can touch her .... These two singers have the most individuality
and that's what will help them succeed. Its better to be a flawed singer
with a unique voice and style than a technically perfect singer with a
generic voice - I mean when you can hire Sonu Nigam, Shaan or Udit
Narayan, Alka Yagnik, etc why the hell will you go for Aneek, Junaid,
Amanat, Sumedha, poonam, Harpreet... And would you pick Raja over
Sukhvinder or Kailash kher - only if you're flat broke... But Mussarat can
fill Nusrat fateh Ali's void (at least partially) and Mauli despite her flaws is
unlike any singer in India, and more like a contemporary Usha Uthup.. No
matter who wins, these are the two singers who will make it in the film
industry in the long run.... besides Mauli has the oomph factor to succeed
on stage and in music videos... There are many far better singers than
Brittany Spears in America and better singers than Shakira in South
America, but they don't have the looks to succeed...

i completely disagree with you. a singer first and foremost needs to be able to sing in sur. everything else comes after that. and by the way what does any of that have to do with this topic?
