Performance-wise, Friday : My take

Personally I did'nt enjoy the song selection too much..cud've been much better..I was looking forward to a "Sufi" theme but was disappointed with the "Universal hits" collection..

Poonam : She has been consistently giving good performances. today's was good too..not only that, she looked really pretty today with the blue lens, the straight hair and the radiant smile..

Amanat : I wud say today's was not one of his best performances..needed more energy in the song..

Mauli : goes from bad to further low every week, sadly enuf. when I heard today's song I thought her "Shakalaka baby" was much better. Very nasal, singing in 2-3 difference voices in the same song, pronouncing the word "seekh le" as "seekh lae", overdoing the "sexy punch" were some of the few things that I found disappointing in her performance today..

Harpreet : highly under-rated singer in the contest, I felt today his performance was one of the best..

Junaid : Shekhar was right about his low notes..it was slightly shaky, but at the same time his high notes were fantastic..overall very good!

Raja : No surprises there, he maintains a certain standard, never falls below that..this particular song did'nt have much to show off his talent..

Mussarat : Not a new thing for someone to forget lyrics..Raja has done it a couple times in this show..personally i don't care much abt the lyrics part..like Himesh rightly said, thats not one of the factors that they r looking for in this talent hunt..most important is good voice, sur, taal, etc. but i also think that there is a strong possibility that Mussarat might end up in the trishanku next week..

Aneek : For the first time I felt he came out of Sonu's shadow..not only for the "Bulla ki jaana" song, but also when he sang "Yamma yamma" in the beginning..but still he very much reminds me of Vinit..

Sumedha : Again, has maintained consistency in giving good performance after a not-so-good "Aaj ki raat"..

Joy : His exit made me sad today, even though I feel its time for him to be voted out, being the weakest of singers in the lot..infact all the other contestants were looking sad too..he has a good positive and cheerful attitude..hope he succeeds in his goals..

I liked the performances in this order

1. Raja & Harpreet- absolutely rocking.No one can beat Harpreet in Punjabi songs...Raja was rocking as usual again better than the original track...I liked his voice a lot in this song.

2.Aneek, Sumedha & Junaid- pretty good job .

3.Amanat & Poonam- Amanant was also good.But he lacked the punch required for this song.Poonam's lens were scary:( though she sang well.

4.Musarrat- I didn't like his performance compared to the original track(not because of his forgetting the lyrics though). He did better when he sang without track. It is a very simple and beautiful song.Somehow the beauty was lost because of too much of vibration in his voice.

5. Joy- Yeah, his exit was very sad :(

Very well put up Dhruvie.. And I agree with whatever you have said.. I loved Aneek's performance today. Last week he was not upto the mark and this time he is back again.. Yes, he reminds me again of Vinit - this was the song even Vinit sang.. Wonder if its all planned and he is given all songs which Vinit sang 😕

Loved Harpreet and Raja too.. Yes, Harpreet is underrated singer and I really wish he does not get eliminated for the cost of another singer

Sumedha was good, but could have done better, same goes for Poonam too.. Some places Poonam was shakky i felt - but need to listen these two again to comment on more.. and also Junaid, need to listen again..

Mussarat did justice without the track.. He got lost of the track, but thats ok..

Joy elimination was really touching.. Felt sorry for that guy..

Caveman-I agree with u about Amanat, and also about Raja's voice suiting this song..

About Poonam and Sumedha, I did'nt notice Poonam's voice shaking..will have to listen to their performances once more..

I too wonder who selects the songs for these singers..is it the mentors, or do the singers have a right to choose their own songs..or like one of the articles (about the patriotic theme/pakistani singers) mentioned, does Zee have any say in it? I have a feeling its either Zee who wants to recreate the Himesh-Vinit bonding between Himesh and Aneek this time, or its Himesh himself asking Aneek to sing all the songs that Vinit sang in C2005 for reasons best known to him 😕 ..

Tonight most contestants fall in very good to excellent range. My favorite was Aneek. He chose a tough song and shut his critics who find Sonu Nigam's trace in his voice because he was perfect.

I am disappointed in Raja. Do we need another Kailash Kher? Because he sounds same and now it is getting repetitive. Tonight he sounded just like he was singing 'yeh duniya oot patanga kite hath te kite tanga'. Everyone is in perfect sur and Raja is not the only one. Even Mussarat gets out of his sufiana mould many time. I know he won't be in bottom 3 but I am disappointed.

Raja was absolutely rocking in this song!! I felt like dancing😛 Wonder what this song has to do with Kailash Kher....btw in my opinion Raja has a better voice quality than Kailash Kher ..there is a think called 'khanak' in his voice that makes it sound beautiful..All punjabi songs !='yeh duniya oot patanga' which was a very high pitched song and this one is not ..It is sung by an Italian band.....He gave Just the right throw reguired for this song. Also, loved Harpreet's song👏

Also, Aneek does sond like Sonu and he sings his songs a lot. But this does not mean I'll dismiss him saying that we don't want any more Sonu!

No one can change his or her original voice quality.It is all bout singing the song with right sur, taal, emotion and throw.

I wrote what I felt after hearing Raja. He sounded monotonous. At this stage this show has some fabulous singers so I would prefer a singer of Raja's calibre to stand out. Stricly my views, you can choose to disagree.
