Bollywood's most hated?

Aadesh Srivastav is set to become Bollywood's most hated man. He's going to launch a company to protect the rights of American singers and stop plagiarism in its tracks

Aadesh Srivastava

Music composer Aadesh Srivastava, who claims to have not composed a single unoriginal tune in his entire career of two decades, is all set to establish a music copyright-protection company in India to prevent Indian composers from illegally ripping off foreign songs.

This is his open and unprecedented challenge to all the Bollywood composers over the generations who have copied, adapted and vandalised songs from international sources.

Aadesh says, " The idea was actually given to me by my musical collabator, the American rapper Wyclef Jean with whom I'm doing an album. I happened to mention the name of a very big Indian composer who had adapted Wyclef's song 'Maria'."

"Wyclef was zapped. He said there were so many of his colleagues in America who wouldn't know about what Indian composers are up to. He then asked me to do something about it. That's how the idea of forming a company to protect the publishing rights of songwriters in America and other countries was born," adds Aadesh.

Aadesh leaves for the US this week to finalise the deal. Besides Wyclef, his immediate clients are expected to be Shakira, Beyonce and several other singing giants.

"I'm aware that I'll be the most hated man in Bollywood after I sign this deal. But that's okay. At least I'll be doing what's right," laughs the self-appointed crusader.

Hey! I never realised that this is such a money-spinning venture! Someone else should have thought of this earlier. 😆 Now the fun will start.

Well, he is definitely one of the most hated music show judges 😆 Now he's going to be even more hated thanks to this new company protecting the rights of American singers.

According to the link, its Himesh Reshammiya.
The inspired song is O Priya from Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jaye.

I thought it was AR Rahman's "Fanaa" from Yuva.

America ko chhodo, how about protecting the rights of singers across the border first, Mr. Srivastav? 😉

Apne Srivastav saab hi koi doodh ke dhule nahi hain. Here's what itwofs.com has to say:

Shava shava [Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham (2001)] <TC>
Composer: Aadesh Shrivastava

The slower passages in the middle of the song that goes, 'Delha tenu pehli pehli...' is a direct lift from Shazia Manzoor's track 'Batiyan bujaye rakhdi'..

Listen to Shava Shava (mid portion) | Batiyaan Bujaye Rakhdi

Shazia's original track was part of her 1999 album, 'Chan Makhna'. The original is a super energetic track while Aadesh has used it for what Bollywood calls, 'Pathos' mood :-)
