Kalyanji-Anandji used to take special interest to promote new talent. They gave Alka Yagnik a lot of training and some chances to sing. BTW, I think their promoting Alka Yagnik was the cause of their rift w/ Lata Mangeshkar.

K-A released an album titled "Swar Vihar" sometime in the 80's, where they promoted Sadhna Sargam and another singer Sonali Bajpayee (who was 12 yrs old at that time). Amitabh Bachchan is the narrator on this album. If you can get a hold of this album, do listen to it. It is an outstanding fantastic work.

Thanks for listening.

Great topic. Chitra is someone who is really talented but I hardly ever hear
her songs in Hindi movies.

Madhusree is here and there.

Those who missed the success boat despite having talent:
Arati Mukherji
Mahendra Kapoor

will add more later
