If music can help bring us all together and disolve boundaries and borders what is wrong with that?

👏 my sentiments, exactly....

Now all has become business....these singers get an opportunity so that the greedy channelwallahs or producers can reap oodles of money and capture other markets. Anyday, Abhijeet will sing better than Himesh, or Rahat or James.

************** are you trying to say that good singers are only produced in India? do you have any idea how close India-Pakistan-Bangladesh culture is? why a talented guy should be turned down because of his nationality? **********

and yes. abhijit may be best singer in the universe. he do not have any right to behave like this. Himesh is far more credible than that idiot.

Wonder what would be your reaction if the people of Singapore say the same thing - why are we hiring these Indians when we have so many people in our own country who can do the same job or better. And what if they decide to kick all the Indians out of Singapore? You would end up somewhere in India fighting it out with millions of other people for a few hundred available jobs even though you are educated.

Think of it from that perspective.

Abhijit is right when he talks about Bappi's hindi accent, almost everybody i know makes fun of Bappi's hindi even the bengalis. Whenever i see Bappi Lahiri i think of the song "jhopdi mein chaarpai manush bina roti padi" 😆 I prefer Abhijit's songs anytime anyday compared to Bappi or Himesh. I also feel he shouldn't use harsh words for Bappi Lahiri.

Its disgusting to see Abhijeet talk like that. EVEN IF he was right, no civilized man should talk about someone so elder to you like that.

Whatever you say, Bappida did give film industry some very good songs. And even if he didn't Abhijeet should be ashamed of his 3rd grade behavior..

I lost respect for Abhijeet bc of an incident that happened a yr or so ago.
He was supposed to do a show in Toronto and as a promotion, one of the local Indian radio program stations had set up a scheduled live interview with him via phone for the morning program.
So the lady calls him up in real time in India and after a couple of trys (the phone kept ringing), the guy finally picks up and when she tells him she is calling from Toronto for the radio show interview, he rudely tells her that he was sleeping and to call back after an hour or two!!!
I specifically remember this bc I was driving to work and heard the whole exchange on the car-radio.
Given that India is about 10 hrs ahead it was prob about 6:30pm there. I was totally disgusted with his attitude that day and watching him on Saregama Lil Champs and more recently VOI...has further strengthened that view.

On a total different note, I saw ASVOI for the first time couple of weeks back and with skepticism, because I have utmost respect for SRGMP esp, challenge 2005.

I was so surprised to see the talent of singers there esp. the indore and the Delhi episodes.

Most of these shows have bad judges. II3 judges are too goody goody sweet. In SRGMP I cant handle HR. And in ASVOI I found Adesh and Abhijeet very rude.
But again as far as I am concerned I am thinking of following ASVOI, just to enjoy singing. Ultimately I watch these singing shows to listen to some good voices and not for any other masala.
Im sure I will be able to root for and follow good singers in ASVOI. Im disappointed with SRGMP contestants, this year. Again, I loved the 2005 contestants talent so much that I might be comparing these guys with them.

Life is not always about saying sweet things. Life is not always about appreciation, critisism is the other side of the same coin and forms part and parcel of the whole thing.

Well, at least he added some spice ... otherwise watching Bipin Saab and his son made me cry today

Exactly what I was thinking and so well said. There are 2 two sides to everything and he was just pointing out the sour side, which is true. And as you said, he did add some spice...😉

Bappi Lahiri can be better described as Copy lahiri...all his life he has copied Western tunes...and he has even the audacity to demean the great RD Burman. Abhijeet is right (though he could have said it in more measured way) in what he says. We get hysterical with singers who sings with nose, shouts, and emits pure noise; we go blah-blah over besura Rahat Fateh Ali and other half-cooked Pakistani and Bangladeshi singers (when we have 1000 times better talent at home); and then blame a person who is upright as Abhijeet in calling a spade a spade.

Abhijeet is a brilliant singer, and a person who says from his heart.

Very true... he was just pointing out the obvious. And everything what he said was very true. Infact when I saw the interview on TV I loved his comment abt the roti that why was the roti comment made? God provides enough food for our country, and our singers are not beggars.

Abhijeet was totally heated up😆

Yes, I watch both of these shows and I also observed that the singers in ASVOI are far better than the ones here, Gajji truly has a talent in picking out good singers👏
