Is mentor's special a good idea?

You think mentor's special is a good idea...The four mentors Ismail, Himesh, Bhappi and VS are good in their own right..but may not have enough variety and number of excellent songs for contestants to sing the whole episode and at the same time viewers enjoy the program..

If it is RD Burman special or Laxmi kant piyarelal special, it is different thing..you can choose from dozens of excellent songs..

How u feel about the mentor's special..Do you like mentor's special? If not, what kind of special you would like to hear..

I think all the four mentors have excellent variety of songs for selection by 8 contestants.....

Like we saw a blend of slow and fast numbers in Bappida show.....

ID did nt have much range, but his songs are soulful.....

HR has a lot of variety like, Tere naam and banaras

then Hamraaz, Aitraaz, Pyar kiya to darna kya, Dil maange more, in which he has given some nice music and has nt sung....

then there is Aashique banaya aapne, Tom Dick and Harry, Zeher like where he has sung few songs....

VS has many dance numbers to their credit to be selected by contestant....😊......

I think it is a good Idea and also a nice idea to motivate the MDs to become mentors😆

I really dont know.May be they should have a mix and match of the Mentors songs.Can you imagine if there is a HR special and the participants sing it.I am sure none would be able to catch and give the "special genre" effects 100% right and that would mean our dear Himmy bhaiyya singing out 8 songs to show the effects.😕

Vishal Shekhar- do they have those many songs? I am quite ignorant about them except I like dus bahane and sunona.would they have more songs like sun zarra or sad ones , i,e. in other categories except fast beat types?

Bappida is the only one who has a wide range and categories.

ID's songs are absolutely divine, but as we found out , not the easiest ones to perform on stage

I dont think there should be a mentor special, I dont even think there should be a MD special, I think the rounds should be theme/genre specific

I dont think there are enough variety composition from ID and maybe even VS

Okay, I agree with sareg about not having MD special!

In fact, I honestly think that towards the latter stages, all participants should sing the same song..😛 but then ofcourse, no matter how much we claim we listen only for sur and voice, somewhere we all seek entertainment whether we accept or not.

Also, one has to judge the contestants for their variety and it also gives a chance to identify their niche.. Subjecting them to different MDs projects their quality of voice in terms of variety and sensibility :) beedee jalalile vs and Hum the jinke sahaare... Both are demanding songs and very different :)

Since MDs like ID , VS are rlatively new and /or have less variety, perhaps they can club all mentors together and contestants can picks songs from all 4 OR other 3, except their own mentor.. or something like that 😊 - just my opinion! no offense be taken.

well actually its not dat bad an idea u know all the 4 mentors r frm 4 different geners n by having dis special the participants can be tested as in if they can sing in all geners or not....or they will cum to know which gener is der forte ...n stuff like dat

n i dun think VS dun have variety ......they've gvn soulful songs like aazmale aazmale frm taxi no. 9211.....n dat song tu jahan frm salaam namaste n suno na and tu ashiqui hai from jhankaar beats

Yes I agree too. The MDs are there as mentors. They are coaching their contestents and providing their input. It is good to see the MDs range too and understanding of other genre of music. Contestents should be versatile in singing all genre of songs.......not just particular kind of songs by their own mentors. The mentors can also learn from each other's comments. Mentor's round is helpful in my view.😛

Abhi, Thanks for you post..If you see the variety we are going to see in HR episode..thik hai there is some variety😕.. par yeh bhi koi variety hai😆...considering we have thousands of outstanding songs in hindi films..

I somehow feel these episodes to be boring because of the very few choices of songs. Just my pov...You are right, it may motivate MD's to become mentors 😃

well i think,they shud start the old judges choice round type mentors-choice round instead of this mentor's special.......n yes theme round will also be good........these mentors r new n doesnt have variety.........likewise they shud have lyricist's round,singer's round in which they can sing from the same lyricist,singers....etc instead of this mentors special.......expecting this type of rounds in ASVOI 😳 😛
