I think it is very important to face the audience. You can pick so much emotion looking at the crowd's reaction also. Singing is about voice- God's Gift, Sur- Practice and EMOTION picked from the force of life.. including audience. Closed eyes of singers makes me not want to listen anymore after a while.

Eyes opened or closed... does it really matter? When we hear songs or watch the picturisations of them we can't see the playback singer... it does not matter which posture they sing in... it's their voice that we are listening to.

Singers tend to close their eyes when a song is slow/sad 'cos they try to get deep into the feeling of the song... and closed eyes tends to work with a song of that genre... so there's nothing wrong in closing them.

If looking at the singers face and closed eyes bother , then best is to close your eyes and just listen to the song. 😆 the song matters to me, the rest is trivial...

I think it's ok.. Everyone closes their eyes to pretend their actually listening to the song as their singing.. so it's all good 😉

Open or closed doesn't matter. Nihira closed her eyes most of the time, but she was a wonderful singer and everyone noticed that...no need of eye contact to appreciate the song and the voice 😳
