SRGMP contestant faints-article

Vishal says: "Sarika fainted on the sets because of depression- she couldn't digest the shock of being eliminated. I don't remember which song she sang that day, but I know that she sang very well. She was the best performer of the day. When she was eliminated we asked our organizer to find out a way by which we could call her back. Then we used bramhasatra and brought her back to the show."

The whole incident happened after Asha left the sets.
"We are nobody to go against Ashaji's decision. She was the Mahaguru of the show and is very eminent, but Sarika performed excellently. All the mentors agreed that she should not have been eliminated that day. We just wanted to avoid an unnecessary elimination of a talented singer. Ashaji is a icon for us, we can't deny her decision, she must have had her own reasons which were right, but we wanted Sarika back in the show as she deserved it."

Vishal continues to stress on the fact that the decision to get Sarika back was in no way to offend Asha Bhonsle. He says, "What we did was not to create a controversy, but to help a singer who deserved it. All the mentors have agreed and I am sure that Ashaji will also agree. Shekhar and I are great fans of Ashaji. We have great respect for her."

Other than this incident, Vishal says there have been no problems on the sets. "There is no tension. The atmosphere on the sets is very friendly and we can feel the positive vibes. We send some of our contestants to Ismailji's gharana, some to others and vice versa. Before this show, I did not know Himmesh and Ismailji well. The only point which has affected Sarika is that she has been eliminated after performing well. That was pretty sad."

In this episode everyone expected Jyoti to be eliminated and all the judges were surprised when Sarika was sent off. Himmesh was not present as he was out of India. Vishal and Shekhar made the most of this by wearing caps and singing in Himmesh's style. Later on, Asha joined in with their Himmesh imitations.
