Aaditya Narayan

Asha Bhonsle is proving to a great mentor for young Aaditya Narayan on the sets of Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Fond of the young host, Asha Tai has turned into a Hindi teacher and is giving him many handy tips about his language and styling.

Aaditya says, "She just wants my Hindi to be perfect. Given my education, she assumed that I was unable to speak Hindi. But, she was pleasantly surprised with my accent as I belong to the Bihari culture." Aaditya converses in Hindi with father Udit Narayan and in English with mother.

"She still feels that I should increase my Hindi vocabulary. So, she teaches me new words and their pronunciation. She wants me learn 'romantic' Urdu words too. I am also trying to catch up fast so that I can be closer to my audience. I am really thankful to her," adds Aaditya.

"Ashaji is actually very worried about Aaditya because he was in the UK and the US for his education. She wanted him to speak perfect Hindi as he is the host of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. So, she has started giving him Hindi lessons. She wants him to speak more polished Hindi. She also wants him to learn some Urdu, as the language has an old world charm about it. Before every shot, she gives him instructions regarding his diction," says Payaol Patel, creative director of the show.

Asha has also recommended a teacher for his Urdu lessons. "Although Ashaji has fixed the teacher for Aaditya, he really does not have the time to attend any class. We are shooting day in and day out. He is too caught up with work," Payaol adds.

The association between the two started back in 1995, when she sang 'Rangeela Re' with Aaditya. When Asha Bhonsle came to the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, she was very excited to see Aaditya after so many years. Now, most of her time is spent chatting with Aaditya. She also advises him on how to style himself before every shot. She always checks his costumes and the colour combination. Apparently, she likes really his spiky hair.

If mentally and culturally challenged people could be mentors, then linguistically challenged host is not a big deal.

I have one more question:

How the hell do you pronounce "Payaol". Is this a screwed up version of Payel or Payal?
