Many of the contestants here might be able to sing, well maybe not at the level of Parthiv, but they wont
1. The mentors know these songs take a lot of work from them
2. The contestants have a heavy chance of elimination
3. The "In" thing is to sing Sufi songs or Item numbers and that is what we will see

Himesh might be dead set against it, but I doubt other mentors will also go this route, so dont get your hopes up 😉

The performance in the clip by Parthiv has a riyaz of life time..Mentors cannot take chances with somebody who has never gone that route..Each genre demands are different..Item songs will not be easy for some body who is used to singing in ragas..If you have a singer at hand who loves one genre and has mastered it, it will be taking a big chance to take him out of that genre..Since there are no set rules in saregama about verstality..than why take a chance..Mentor who has a singer who is versatile will definitely make sure every body knows about his singer's verstality..

I think it will be disastrous if Mussarat start singing item numbers and Mauly start singing Sufi songs after 1 week of practice and as a result are kicked out..Performances we see by contestants, I think has years and years of practice and not just few weeks which are available..Just my pov..
