😆
Over here in Singapore, we have only seen the first 4 episodes ('cause they come one week late)
What amused me is how HR went on the defensive and ballistic when Asha asked a contestant whether she chose the song herself or someone selected it for her. 😆 😆

He completely lacks poise and grace. Talks too much and incoherently! What's more I cannot follow his logic too. Why was he criticising the contestants and saying that they should not even attempt RD Burman songs (koshish bhi mut karo). Was he meaning they should only sing Himesh songs? If he is forbidding them from doing koshish, how on earth will they sing anything?

i dont know about the four genres he is talking about.himesh to begin with was a good composer.good nothing special.he gave those typical hindi film songs we get to hear so much.like oodhli.very earthy compositions.then he gave a good score for aitraaz, dil maange more etc which was a bit different.then he began his nasal howling.
ive always maintained that himesh is a good composer if he doesnt sing his songs.for example check that song main jahaan rahoon that mussarat sang.a very good composition

Yes, you are right, although I do not like Himesh and his songs in general, I feel his compositions sound a lot better when sung by some other singer. Eg. Sameer sang "E meri zohra zabeen" in little champs. I hated the song before, but when sameer sang it, I felt that the composition was quite nice.

Himesh gets very repetitive in compositions which he must avoid, along with putting full stop to singing himself. Actually if he becomes selective in his work, and stops composing music for every other film, he can become a fine composer.

HR's talent and versatality is something a perfectionist can better analyze but as a listener, I have always loved melody and gives particular emphasis on melodic hooks to his songs barring a few of his works... when he wasnt a singer, I was his big fan of him for the melody he creates in his songs but as he started singing, the melody is not only lost but shouting, yelling and screaming has replaced most of his works... but when we look at his earlier work(wherein he used to make professional playback singers sing his composed songs), no one can deny the touch of Indian music(may not be instruments) based on pop music and catchy techno beats... he has changed the face of Indian music which was going in wrong direction... he tried to convince the younger generation to like Indian songs with the blend of western and gradually he wanted to make everyone like purely Indian classical music which is yet to come in his composition(hopefully)...

if we go back and look at his career, we get to see few genres
