Today I got the chance to see the last episode. HR said quite a few times that in last 8 years he has given hits in 4 diff genres: which genre he talked of? Most of his songs range from techno -pop, not to miss corrupt rock & sufi (really?).
Apart from them which other genre has he given music in ….IMO his style of music arrangement is same, if I take away digital drums & synthesizers; he might find it hard to complete a song.
He will really do a favor if he let his chelas sing songs of better composers rather than forcing his own songs.
When Asha tai proved versatility of Mussarat by making him sing another song, HR got completely frustrated. But transition from topi to roti is interesting.
This girl who got eliminated (don't remember her name) has pretty good voice, IMO her song selection was wrong (which gharana she belonged to..?), she needs good guidance. But there wasn't much diff in her singing & Shabri's: who must be thanking her stars.
Mauli already seems to be losing focus like Twinkle some time ago; I would like her to sing a semi classical song preferably composed by Salilda or Madan Mohan saab.
Junaid has very good voice & must have done a lot of riyaz to execute harkats he was doing... (Most of which were in sur), again he also needs to experiment.
But overall the entire episode was marred by histrionics of HR who seriously needs a lesson (chanta..?) or two in social behaviors.

Regarding the post - I feel Himesh is capable to sing other genre of songs too.. Yesterday he sang teri yaad saath hain - really well.. he is the same person who composed Aitraaz, tere naam and Banaras.. When he is capable, then why is he sticking to one type?? Maybe this is what he said in the last episode that he would want to concentrate in one genre so he can become hit.. But onething Himesh is not understanding is that - people get bored with only one type of song being composed.. if Himesh is thinking of something big, then he can be successful, he has the capability, why is he restricting himself

please explain about his capability

Benaras is a mix of remixe & ave compisitons, rest : tere naam: HR himslef has accepted that most of the songs are inspired (copied) from old songs of LP saab, regarding Aitraaz: atleast 2 songs are note by note copy, rest other are pretty average. Most of his hits songs are of racy tempo, techno based sequenced rhythm songs.

The same thought crossed my mind several times ... 4 genres ... 4 genres ... till I found the answer !!!

The 4 genres are :

# Sufi Rock (don't know if the two really goes together -sounds more like corrupted sufi singing with sequenced beats.

# Left Nose hole singing

# Right Nose hole singing

# Howling from the mouth ....

😉 😉 😉

Sinhaji, all im saying here is when he can compose other type of music, why is he restricting himself to one genre?? Come to think of it, it maybe more because of the statement that he gave yesterday that he wants to stick on to one genre to get more number of hits..

She is Amrita and belongs to Rock gharana

she needs good guidance. But there wasn't much diff in her singing & Shabri's: who must be thanking her stars.

HR's talent and versatality is something a perfectionist can better analyze but as a listener, I have always loved melody and gives particular emphasis on melodic hooks to his songs barring a few of his works... when he wasnt a singer, I was his big fan of him for the melody he creates in his songs but as he started singing, the melody is not only lost but shouting, yelling and screaming has replaced most of his works... but when we look at his earlier work(wherein he used to make professional playback singers sing his composed songs), no one can deny the touch of Indian music(may not be instruments) based on pop music and catchy techno beats... he has changed the face of Indian music which was going in wrong direction... he tried to convince the younger generation to like Indian songs with the blend of western and gradually he wanted to make everyone like purely Indian classical music which is yet to come in his composition(hopefully)...
