A star is born. Yes these are the exact words that came out of me after I saw the performance of Mauli Dave in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on Zee TV two weeks back on Saturday evening. Though I am not a regular viewer of the show, one of the promos of the program had provoked me to manage some flexible moments to watch her performance. And this was really worth watching as this platform had contributed immensely by recognizing and exposing talents from across the country in Hindi music. But this time we saw talents beyond India and last episode had witnessed this through talent hunt in Dubai and USA and that is how Mauli Dave happened.

Her song was a tough one based on a melismatic Arabian tune, elaborately ornamented to drive the viewers and the judges into ecstasy realizing that only a virtuoso singer could dare to pick up such a song. She looks attractive, smart, modern yet traditional in values, possess a formidable voice from deeply rooted classical background that is unique in nature to make an impact in the mind of a audience. I hope these are enough to make a mass appeal and she is creating a sensation in the time to come. Though a lots of improvements are on the card, her confidence and the attitude to learn further assures a bright future, which is imminent.

Her confidence overshadows her coyness to perform in front of some formidable composers from bollywood and a huge gathering without loosing an air of excessive flamboyance. The best part was her complete involvement with the song, which is the key to the success of any singer, that got reflected through her moderately maintained rhythmic body movements making the panel judges and the audience dancing along with the beat. Her attire reflects the modernity as a teenager yet carries decency to make an appeal to both the viewers and the judges.

She is a star in making and Zee had again proved to be right platform for the right talent. As before where Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa had produced singing sensations such as Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Kunal Gunjawala and like. Though as an anchor Sonu Nigam performed exceedingly well, this platform had given him a chance to display his immense potential and in-depth knowledge over Hindi music that made him reach out the masses and his stardom started glittering and song offers happened to pour in. he is a big star.

The reflection in the face of Bappi Lahiri who had spotted Mauli during talent hunt drive in the US, witnesses a sense of satisfaction for choosing the right talent and that was orchestrated by other judges as a gesture to connect emotionally with a performer. My one-week wait to check how she had made an impact in my mind I have discovered my brain was totally infected by her rendition and provoked me download the video from youtube to watch her performance repeatedly that is still lingering in my mind. We sincerely look forward to see her next performance, which may lead her to the fame of a big star in coming time. We wish her all luck.
