It is responsibility of contestant and his/her parents, if contestant does not like the song and parents already warned then she can refuse to sing those kind of song and refuse to wear those dresses... I was watching Antrakshii of Sunday episode, contestant(Nidhi) from Central zone was singing same song and her mother was sitting beside her and brother and father was in first row in audience... Nobody told her to sing that song.

I doubt Jaadoo bhai if at this stage they will have that much of a say. Or even if their views will be taken into consideration.

In my opinion, a mentor should select the song for the participant for the simple reason that these mentors are all composers, they have a handle on the range of the singers and what they can deliver, especially in the first few rounds it is very important that they select,when the singers are still raw.

It should be the duty of the mentor to establish which song would suit the theme of the day and how well the contestant can carry it through. After deciding they should tell the production unit of the choice.

We have seen in C2005, Twinkle, Himani, Ujjaini compromised with dresses but Nihira did not... that means SRGMP respected Nihira's sentiments... I am 100% sure, if contestants refuse something with valid reason then nobody can force them...

Very True.. And I also remember the valentines day episode, each of one of them talking about their love and it was only Nihira who was speaking about her love for God.. No one can force a person to do anything against his/her conscience..

It will always be the channel's word against the contestant's.
