No, he should not. If all the bald men stopped shampooing, there will be a little less shampoo polluting our rivers.

2 "An idle mind is devils den" –How big the mind should be to fit in the devil?

As big as the den

3. "If looks could kill, I would be a dead man now"- how many times have you killed that way with looks?

All those I have looked at have survived my looks.

4. "Old habits die hard" what about new habits then ?

They become old habits soon.

5. "The world is round" – In that case why is US on the west and Russia in the east?in the globe aren't they next to one another?

This was done to confuse visa and asylum seekers.

6. What do you think is appropriate for you – to be "diplomatically correct" or to be "politically correct".

Just correct!

7. Often you may hear your friend asking with her eyes" how do I look"- have you ever answered anything other than… "wow you look just awesome.."! if yes, what was the result of that ? if not why not?

I answer with my eyes & they never lie.

8. "Rome was not built in a day"- Then how many days did it take to build it up?

Rome was built soon after their emperors stopped fiddling.

9. "Nothing is impossible ,if you set your mind to it"- what is the possibility of the impossible being possible in your present frame of mind?

As possible as India winning the WC cricket.

10. "Change is inevitable"- how much change is good for a change?

As much as is inevitable.

Sahana ji my next questions:

Now-a-days I hear all the time from people don't expect anything from your kids for your old age. What do you think about it please explain.

If the answer to above question is yes, then I have another question, when in our old age our body does not support us & we need physical & mental support from our near/dear ones, if we don't expect from our kids then what do we do at that moment and from whom should we expect?

I would take it case-by-case. To give an example, Mukesh was known to sing slightly out of sur. Yet I love most of his songs, because he put his soul into his singing - the pathos, vulnerability and sincerity he conveyed could not be compared with anyone else. However, even if Mahendra Kapoor puts all his heart into singing, I just can't stand the sound of his voice! Anuradha Paudwal can sing without a mistake, but I would not like to buy an CD of hers.
So it has to be a case-by-case approach.

2. Is it the lyrics or the musical composition of the song that prompt you to listen to it again. 😊
Sorry for being repetitive, but again I will say case-by-case. 😆
In some songs, the lyrics are the main attraction e.g.tanhaayeen from DCH and in others the music e.g.songs from Basant Bahar. But there are still other songs when an ace lyricist has come together with an ace music director to create magic. e.g songs of Pyaasa.

3. What kind of song you like more, Soft numbers or song with jumping notes what himesh composes or just oldies and y?
Obviously not Himesh. He is not in my lexicon.
Every song is suitable for a certain mood or situation. So I would play music according to that. I believe that the Golden Age of Hindi film music is over. By a happy set of circumstances, just after India's independence, there was an explosion of talent when the best music directors, lyricists, singers and instrumentalists got together. It was a unique environment.

That kind of meeting of minds is not taking place in today's world of commercialisation and competition. So today's music is a pale shadow of its former self. There are still flashes of excellence when a Shankar Mahadevan or AR Rahman do their best, but these are rare.

...................................................

4. If "No body is perfect" 10/10 in this world than Why Do we say "Practice makes a man Perfect" 😉
When we say "practice makes perfect" we are referring to a particular activity or skill like tennis-playing or solving maths problems. We are not saying practice makes a perfect human being. So there is no disconnect here.

No one is a perfect human being - all humans are imperfect, however, you can become perfect in one activity by practising hard enough.

5. If practice makes a man perfect that Y do we say the Supreme being God is the only perfect being. 😉
Again, these two ideas are not in opposition. Practice only makes a human perfect in some activity. God is still the only perfect being (assuming he exists)

Nik 😊

Manju, I think the Indian custom of regarding children as an old-age support system was suitable for earlier times when the joint family system was entrenched and when children did not go away to different towns/countries to make a living.
That system had both advantages and disadvantages. Where the old parents got along fine with sons and daughters-in-law, everything worked ideally. The grandparents would take care of kids, the bahus would do their duties and so on. Where the old parents were too demanding, the bahus had hell and the younger couples had no private lives of their own. It was a kind of a jailed life. Sometimes kids got spoilt by grandparents and the kids's mother could not say a word for fear of her m-i-l.
Western thinking is totally different. They raise their kids with the usual love but set them free when they become adults. This helps the young adults to become independent and find their own calling in life. In the ideal situation, they will keep in touch with parents and be there in times of need. But when things go wrong...you would have seen what happens.
Personally, I would like to teach my daughter all the values that I perceive as important and one of them is certainly to care for near and dear ones. By showing her that I will be always there to support my parents when they need me, I will hope that she is learning by example.
I want to make all arrangements for my financial independence in my old age so that I don't become a burden on my daughter. Yet, I hope that she will be able to get the vibrations from my heart when I need her and I wouldn't need to say anything.

Most of the people who believe in God strongly tend to have a certain equanimity, a calmness when dealing with crisis in life. They have faith that things will change for the better. Most importantly, they are not bitter or cynical! For this, if nothing else, it is a good idea to believe in God.

Of course, it is theoretically possible for someone to be an atheist and still have the serenity, but I think that's quite rare.

What a great answer!👏 This certainly gets me through trying times. Loved your choices about movies, stars etc.

To be physically and mentally fit, financially independent and sharp-witted.

What does the word modern women mean in your own dictionary
Same as above.

What are the advises you would give for the women of today in India
Be confident. Don't compete with or try to act like men. Develop your own style and independent thinking. Be up to date with latest developments. Learn to prioritise. Use whatever means (yoga/tai ichi/meditation) to develop calmness in the midst of pressures and a keen concentration on the immediate task at hand.

We Indians are adapting more of western culture and thus loosing our own culture and tradition - Justify
Yes, many Indians are doing that. But there are also others who are blending both cultures and taking the best of both.

How did you get the interest in music - Have u learnt classical music - if yes then for how many years.

It was the 'mahaul' at home. My mother loves music and expresses her opinions strongly. I saw merits in what she said and slowly began to develop a strong affinity for music. I was also deeply influenced by one uncle who is no more now. No, I never learnt classical music.

Freedom or Achievements - Which do you think is important for a person:
I don't quite understand why one of the two should be more important than the other.

  1. Who is your source of inspiration and role model
My mother in some things, my father in others. Some characters in fiction also inspire me a lot! 😃
  1. Who is better - the achievers or those who helped to achieve
Again, I see no reason to choose one. The one who shaped our moulded an achiever gets a lot of credit but so do does the achiever who had the ability to learn in the first place.
Thats it for now 😊

Congrats punjiniji. Good answer, I liked your answer. I know two people close to me and atheist, they do not believe in God but God lives in their heart.(they are pure and calm).
