There have been several commentators/comperes/hosts who have popularized the art of compering/ commentory. One such person who has hosted several shows is Amin Sayani. He is the pioneer of hosting programs in style..Shaan has done a good job in hosting Saregama..Larry King is a great show host on CNN.Lot of players have tried their hands on as cricket commentators like Ravi Shastri, Navjot Singh Sidhu and so on..

Do you like any particular host/compere/commentator on any Indian/Foreigh programs. Who is that? Which is your favorite commentator/program host/compere? 😕

I love the whole cricket commentry team of ESPN-Star.
Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Wasim Akram, Harsha Bhogle - all are very good

Of Course, Shaan rocks and SOnu did a great job as well 😊
Annu Kapoor is also a very natural anchor

I used to like the way the guy who hosted the Bounvita Quiz contest back in the days, forget his name 😛

Rest are A-ok, Sonu better than almost all I have seen. The Mallika girl from Jassi used to host "Adab Arj hai" used to like her too, quite knowledable too.

If only Shaan had not taken part in many a drama's of C2005 😭

As mentioned, Derek O'Brian definitely.

As well the hosts of the show "Surabhi" ... it used to come long back and dealt with answering letters and educating about various parts of India (if memory serves correctly).

Farooque Sheikh did a far better job at hosting Jeena Isi Ka Naam hai than Roshan Abbas is.

And the list isn't complete without Oprah Winfrey. 😉

Surabhi's hosts were Renuka Shahane and Siddharth Kak.. A bit of info about Surabhi from the net..

Surabhi is indeed one of the defining programs of Indian television. It began in 1991 and very soon became the much-awaited programme of the week. When it began, not many would have expected it to enrapture TV audiences year after year. But it did. And for eleven years Surabhi brought the beauty of India and its people to one's drawing room. No one really expected the show to enthrall in such a manner, running at prime time as long as it was on air. But it did, and in what manner!

Thank you! Yes, it was indeed an exquisite show. Similar shows have cropped up, Business Yaatra comes to mind, but none have remotely reached the caliber of Surabhi.

Another host that comes to mind is Shekhar Suman. A witty, intelligent and unabashed anchor and actor. He did a wonderful job on his show "Simply Shekhar" (which was incidently modeled after Jay Leno's "The Tonight Show").
