SET #3:

answer each and every one here too (or complete each task)...

Task 1: pick any 10 members from this section, and tell me 5 things u know about them and 5 things u would like to know
I'll take the questions 😛
what do u think of marraiges?
Dear lord...that's definitely an essay question, which I said I wouldn't answer 😛

what do u think of arranged marraiges?
They are based on old customs. At the time of their inception, they were neccessary as children were getting married. In today's time, they are still a feasable option, but parents may want to consider being more lenient as their children (typically) are no longer 6 or 7, etc. when making these decisions.

what do u think of love marraiges?
They are a western concept that has traversed the world and is slowly integrating into many cultures. This evolution of humans should be more widely accepted and adapted too. While I'm still expecting an arranged marriage and fine with it, I recognize that the reasoning behind arranged marriages is by and large a moot point in today's society.

what do u think of dating?
It's, again, a western concept that is now a world-wide part of the changing cultures. I'm not sure what I think of dating...it's something that varies from person to person. I do think, the concept of dating has changed the perception of traditional values a bit too much in some places. Dating has, from my experience, opened doors to many more problems in society and individual lives.

what do u think of guys?
They are a neccessary component of society.

what do u think of girls?
They too are a neccessary component of society. Without either, society would cease to function.

what do u think of relationships?
They are an integral part of life and important for individual growth. Relationships come in many forms and are often complicated. Relationships can be rewarding, a burden, serious, casual and an assortment of other ... I hope you get what I mean, because I can't figure out the word right now. 😆

what do u think of break-ups?
No personal experience if you're talking dating wise. As for friendships...they are sometimes neccessary. All relationships, whether they are successful or not, help you learn more about yourself and grow. 😊

what do u think of divorces?
A rather sad part of today's society that creates more problems than it does solutions. Regardless of the culture, marriage is considered a sacred bond. That bond has slowly eroded away with time and the complexities that have been introduced into our lifestyles. Divorce has become an all too often used escape button in many relations. This has a lot to do with dating as well. If I started though, I'd be writing an essay 😛

pick ur favorite:

vegetable - bhindi! 😃
fruit - amrood/guava

and mix them both together...and eat it!! 😆 I'm sure there's some concoction of that sort 😆

figure out this secret message...

Iorry, S ma a sittle ltange. Yf iou won't do mnswer ay qrevious puestions, dou yon't tave ho, yut bou teed no mnswer aost tf ohem.

(the first two words have the first letter switched, so unswitch the rest of them. the words r grouped in twos...so the first two words "Iorry and S" = "Sorry I"
Anita did a wonderful job figuring it out! 😆

get started...hehe have fun 😉 😆
ur going to hate me for this...but...

I'm over it now... I'm hating Dia more! 😆

1. When is money not worth the paper it is printed on?
When the paper is autographed upon 😆 Actually, when people attatch a sentimental value to the note, the paper itself becomes priceless.
2. When would u sacrifice Principle for principal?
Never...unless it was to save the life of a loved one.
3. Pyaar Diwana hota hai - true? why ?
Jab hoyega to bataa doongi 😛
4. If you were lookin to date a guy (I know Anita is married but hypothetically spkg) what five things would u look for?
The way he treats me (this includes he must be chivalrous), intelligence, the way he behaves towards my parents, his general manners and mannerisms, and looks (I'm only human 😛).
5. What is the difference between Pyaar, Ishq aur Muhobbat?
They are all various forms of the same emotion. Ek haseen ehsaas ke alag alag roop.
6. If you were allowed one dream to come true what would u dream ??
My parents are happy and proud of me ... I know they are day to day and in the little things. I mean in big old picture that means the little world we live in.

Danka Sehr in advance - keep up the good work.... 👏
You're welcome....and thank you. 😊😊

How are you doing?
For it being 1:13 in the morning at this point, I'm doing fairly well. 😊
I have been trying to skim through the questions asked by your IF friends, and it is hard for me to think at the moment. I have also noticed that you have taken the time to write detailed answers, and now I dont want to pick your brains too much, so here goes:
Thank you...both for taking the time to go through the insane pages, and for being considerate in your questions. 😊
first set of questions

1. In which state in the U.S. do you live?
New York
2.I gather you are attending University. If so, what are your majors?
What are you going to do when you graduate?
It was Biology...and now it's up in the air between Human Biology (which is more Anthropology related, not that I know what that implies 😆) and English...with a strong tendancy towards English.
The hope is to go to medical school so that I may become a doctor. If that doesn't work out, so help me lord, I have no clue what I'll do with my life. Anyone feel up for some counseling/advising? I could use the help 😕

3. Why did you move from India to the U.S?
Purely a parental decision...they wanted a better life and education for me and my sister.

4.Where would you have really liked to complete your higher education?
Knowing what I do, through heresay, of the two systems, I would now say USA. Comparing the two is futile as the systems are completely different. However, I would have much rather done K-12 in India. While the system is more rigid and fast-paced, students are generally more knowledgeable and better prepared.

5. I also gather you are not married? Do you believe in arranged marriages? or you feel one should choose one's partner.
True, I'm still rather young to be married. I am expecting mine to be an arranged marriage and am fine with that. My father first broached the topic when I was 13. I've been expecting it since then, and at this point in life am greatful that my parents are there to take care of that aspect of life. I am, however, not against love marriages. Ironically, my own parents was a convenient mix of love and arranged marriage. The decision on the type of marriage, in today's society, should be discussed within the family. In my household, the understanding stands that if I do fall in love, I will still seek my parent's approval (with an adequate chance for all to meet and know each other). That, to me, is a reasonable compromise.

6.Have you ever visited Canada? If so, what cities?
Yes. Montreal...it was a rather brief visit to test out our Green Cards. 😆 And to Kitchner and Missisgua to visit family at a later date. 😊

7.What is your favourite perfume?
😆 I don't have a personal scent as yet, though I love the smell of sandalwood. I have grown very attached to my mother's scent, which is Charlie. 😳

Are you a casual dresser when you go out, or does everything have to match? I dress for the ocassion and I dress well. The concept that "presentation is key" has been ingrained in me, and I live by it. You never know who you'll meet where. Also, I want to put forth my best and going out in sweats or pajamas doesn't cut it. However, I'm not trendy or overly fussy with my clothes.

8. Do you have many American friends? As a young girl emigrating from India, do you notice a vast differnce between your thinking and theirs?
I have a rather "balanced" circle of friends. However, I am closer to my American friends than I am my desi friends. This is largely because most of the desis here are very Americanized, whereas I'm looking for desi friends who are still very Indian in nature. The friends I've made at IF have compensated for the lack of truly desi friends in RL.
As for my thinking versus my American friends... yes, there is a cultural gap. I have been born and brought up into a more family-oriented, education-focusses lifestyle. My circle of friends is very diverse. Some are equally family-oriented, some are equally education-focussed. Others are more religiously inclined than I am. Despite our cultural differences, however, we do share similar basic values and opinions. This may, in part, be due to my exposure to the American society and way of thinking for a considerable period of time. However, while we may share similar opinions (ultimately) on various issues, it's interesting to note that our thought processes and reasonings vary remarkably... due to our upbringing and the cultural contexts we pull from.

9. What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is never finding my purpose in life and never being loved.

10. Name one accomplishment in your life that gave you the greatest satisfaction and pleasure/
While certain events in my life have definitely been milestones and memorable, I have yet to have accomplished something that has given me such a strong sense of satisfaction and pleasure. I believe the day I am able to fulfill my goals and make my parents happy and proud of me will be the day I will have achieved my greatest accomplishment.

That's all for now, I have a few more questions later on.
It was indeed a pleasure to answer these questions. 😊 Looking forward to more.
Have fun answering. No long and detailed answers, one liner or one word will do unless you want to make a point!
😆Well now you say so! Had I known earlier... I still would have had long answers. I can't help it. 😳
