Kind of 😕 as usual... but can sad songs also be considered romantic, slow songs? Most of the romantic, slow songs also happen to be sorrowful ones. So, could I pick such songs for this round?

speak to your mentor via PM...between her and u I am sure you can decide...😆

best of luck !!!!

I want one clarification. I know that the rules of the contest say that the song should be sung in full. Some songs have only 2 stanzas while others have 3 or sometimes even more. Can the rule be modified to say something like "The song should be sung in full unless it has more than 2 stanzas in which case it is up to the participant as to whether he/she wants to sing more than 2 verses"?

Thanks.

We are afraid it can not be done... the choice of the song depends on the contestant and mentors, they have to sing full song, however long or short it may be.....

and I dont think it is unfair to anyone in any way as choice of the song is all yours😃

Quite frankly I also agree with Ashish. There are many beautiful songs that have more than two antaras and singing more than two for the contest is an overkill I feel ... many a times all three (or more) may be composed in the same tune as well. Would be a pity if we choose not to sing a particular song just 'cause it's too long. I also feel two antaras should be enough considering that in the real show, they limit it to just one!

Is this something that can be thought over by organizers and mentors?

Thanks.

I also tend to agree with Ashish & Sunitha. Especially if all the antaras have the same tune. My round 1 song had 3 antaras all of the same tune...it probably must have been boring for all to listen to the same tune 3 times 😆 ...in real SRGMP they usually sing only 1..

I also agree with Ashish, Sunitha and Aparna. If a song is longer than two antaras, I would most likely choose NOT to sing it, even if it is otherwise perfect for the theme and sounds good in my voice. I would be afraid that the judges will unconsciously penelize me because it is too long. In the actual SaReGaMaPa show, the contestants have the option of choosing very long songs because they only have to sing one antara. Then why should we have to worry about the length? Even for this round that is coming up, I was thinking of singing "Main Jab Bhi Akeli Hoti Hoon" but I changed my mind because it has four antaras. This time I was able to find another song that I like, but in future rounds, I don't want to have to give up a song because its too long. I hope the coordinators can make this rule a little more flexible.

I think I agree with Ashishji, aparnaji ,Sunitadi and others here. When the antaras have the same tune and when there is no background music it becomes difficult to sustain the interest level of both the singer and the listener if there are more than twoand there fore in a contest participants shy away from choosing long songs even though they are just awesome. That way we miss out on listening to some great numbers. However if the two antara rule applied, then these long songs can also be tried especially if the tune was the same in all the antaras.

Just my 2 cents😳.
