Bada Hua To Kya Hua, Jaise Ped Khajoor
Panthi Ko Chaya Nahin, Phal Laage Atidoor.
Maeaning:
A date tree grows very tall, projecting eminence and a distinction of its own. Yet, it does not provide shade to weary travelers. Besides, it's fruit grows so far that one cannot easily pluck it.
Using this simile, Kabir in this doha points out to us about our vain personalities. What good is our so called eminence, if it is neither compassionate nor helpful to others? Kabir emphasizes that we should shed our greed, selfishness and insecure tendencies and establish ourselves in such a way that we should be willing to give and share. Only then we will be blessed and become a blessing to others.

The power of choice is real.
We can . . .
Choose to love--rather than hate.
Choose to smile--rather than frown.
Choose to build--rather than destroy.
Choose to persevere--rather than quit.
Choose to praise--rather than gossip.
Choose to heal--rather than wound.
Choose to give--rather than grasp.
Choose to act--rather than delay.
Choose to pray--rather than despair.
Choose to forgive--rather than curse.
Each day brings a new opportunity to choose. What kind of choices will you make today?
Power of Words
A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. All the other frogs gathered around the pit. When they saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead.
The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump out of the pit with all of their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.
The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain & just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.
This story teaches two lessons:
There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day. - A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them. BE CAREFUL TO WHAT YOU SAY. Speak life to those who cross your path.
The power of words âŚâŚ it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times.
THREE BRICKLAYERS
"Once there were 3 bricklayers.
Each one of them was asked what they were doing.
The first man answered gruffly,
'I'm laying bricks.'
The second man replied,
'I'm putting up a wall.'
But the third man said enthusiastically and with pride,
'I'm building a cathedral.'"

This story clearly reveals two secrets of success:
1. Attitude
Your attitude towards whatever you are doing determines your ultimate level of success.
2. Ability to See the Bigger Picture
Being able to see the end result, rather than just the task, eliminates obstacles, focuses your energy, and provides motivation to excel.
We all have ability. The difference is how we use Happiness can exist only in acceptance. Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there. We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people. It is easy enough to be pleasant, When life flows by like a song. But the man worth while is the one who can smile, when everything goes dead wrong. You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships everyday. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity. In every adversity there lies the seed of an equivalent advantage. In every defeat is a lesson showing you how to win the victory next time.
Anytime you suffer a setback or disappointment, put your head down and plow ahead. There is no better teacher than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time. - The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy
