It is nice to know that we have so many beautiful songs to help us with our pensive mood. I always wonder why majority of people like to hear sad songs when they are in a blue mood. Nice to know that there are few who like to hear fast songs to break that melancholy and myself being one of them 😕.Looks like there are always atypical people and atypical treatments. Thanks everybody for sharing their invaluable experiences 😃

Ok it has something to do with two things, the brain and the past experiences... Certain notes in a scale especially the "flats" are responsible for create a depressed mood... and if you grew up listening to music constantly it always associated songs with certain moods in your life - this is referred to as "nostalgia" Ideally same sad song should impact everybody - but the difference is in the experiences of each individual. There was this weird song i heard the other day... "Roz akeli aaye" from Mere apne... although i heard it for the first time... it engrossed me for a while... Salil chowdhary has created terrific mood in that song...and its from movie called "mere apne" this song has no lyrics to impact everybody's mood just the notes..

👏Thanks Qwert. Another probable explanation could be that people when feeling sad need some body especially who could be feeling sad so that they don't feel alone. Probably sad song in some way provides that company and they feel they are not the only one sad in this world. 😕
