Okay when I feel "udaas" I try to listen to all Pankaj udaas or Yasu Das' songs and gazal ….jokes apart when I feel sad I listen to HR songs like Oooooooo hajoor type so my sadness or udaasi cut by his sadness u guys must hv heard na…"jahar ko jahar hi katta hai"…….so same funda I use.... 😛 😉 😆

am always a sucker for patriotic songs as in those from haqeekat. the sad song from guide where dev anand is drinking. ghulam ali song from awargi- chamakte chand ko... I think a lot of the ghazals get me down as well. something about the tempo/ beat. even romantic songs like Chalo Ek Baar from gumrah, perhaps because they send me down nostalgia lane to IIT days where they'd always play old movies. other songs i remember mum snging. they were soft numbers but they remind me of a time, era and innocence gone by. on the western side, a lot of the blues type music, some of Rachmaninoff... i find it best to refrain from listening to these numbers nowadays. no point feeling blue
