Such things can happen wherein these crushes develop in virtual world because of the one person wanting to "use another person" of sorts - kind of "matlabi mentality" - It would abviously make the "used person" feel very uncomfortable as, like any else, nobody likes "being used". It is bound to leave a very bad taste in the mouth. I would just ignore such people and never them my friends.

In contrast, very good virtual friends can be developed who just wanted to be your friends who want to be your friend for who "are" rather than who you know - ala "your connections". This applies to virtual as well as real worlds.
