Zee, I think these guidelines are more of statutory requirements in every site to avoid litigation. As you rightly said, in the absence of age proof, it can be faked, but once the site has this specified, it means they have already warned the wannabe member of the age requirement and the members has registered being fully aware of the significance of the statement on the age, but after that it really is not the sites responsibility. That is why parental guidance to net/channel surfing is necessary.

It is not how to confirm age. it is when there is a limit of 13 year, how a under 13 can register here, even if it is done by lying. And if they are, why should there be any clause of donot register if under thirteen, when you still let them. And thirdly what is wrong if a senior gives a advise to a kid. Let kid tell the person straight. Priya quoted a statement of manju ji, which brought this bad taste.
