Nice thread here.. yeh to woh baat hai ki Ramayan khatam ho gayi aur main pooch raha hoon ki Sita kaun thi - but nevertheless, here's my late entry 😳
No love, only crushes. Most of them never got anywhere because I was too gutless to approach the girl, but there was one in 11th grade which was actually looking good. I was getting to be quite friendly with her, and it seemed like she liked me too. We also used to chat a lot on the internet.
Problem was, one of my best friends also liked her. And no, no Qurbani or anything like that here. We both decided to fight it out and try our luck. It soon became apparent that my buddy was fighting a losing battle 😃
For instance, there was this one time where she came to school with her hair tied behind her head (she usually left it open). She asked us for reactions, and while most people (including my friend) said she looked pretty great with the tied-up hair, I said I preferred it open. Later, my friend and I had a bet. We figured that her hairstyle the next day would actually decide once and for all who she liked more. And sure enough, she was back to my beloved free-flowing hairstyle. 😉
I also received a hint or two from her friends. But I was still too gutless to move on further. And before I got the chance to, it was over, courtesy of my friend. He and another buddy of mine came to hang out at my place, and were using the internet. While I went to get something from the kitchen, they'd accessed my chat messenger and found the saved chat transcripts between me and this particular girl, and sent it to their e-mails, and later posted it on our popular class message board website, where it was read by everyone at our school. 😲
I was shocked, and too scared to explain things to the girl. So I tried avoiding her, which convinced her that I was responsible for voluntarily spreading the transcripts so everyone could read (some of it was kind of personal). Finally, she caught up with me after a few days and started accusing me. I tried defending myself and explained that it was all due to my friends, but she didn't believe the story. It ended with her shouting obscenities at me at the top of her voice, and it looked like she was this close to punching or slapping me. I couldn't say anything in my defense. 😒
After that we never spoke again. I didn't let this affect my friendship with my friends though - after all, they're the ones who matter, who lets that go because of a girl anyway?
