Mukund Phansalkar (ex-SRGM winner)

I hope I spelt the name correctly...

Namita ji (namitaS) has been kind enough to post 4 videos of Mukund ji (a SRGM schedule winner from the Sonu Nigam days) on youtube.

If I am not mistaken , Mukund was later hired to host the Marathi counter part of Sa Re Ga Ma. He was doing Sonu Nigam's job.
His voice suited "jalte hain". 😊

Boy! Jalate hai jiske liye is soooo good. Talat-ji ki yaad diladi. So soothing and so velveti voice.... and after seeing Nutan and her expressions in the clips ...bus ankhon mein ansoo aagaye ... Bhai Wah Mukund-ji! Aapne to mera aaj ka din bana diya. Bahut shukriya aapka.

How are you bro 😛 Yesterday I listened to some of his performance on 1998 or 1996 SRGMP finals where he sang Rafiji's song I was not that impressed with his singing (Subhan allah oye). Am I on par here or out of wack??? I will listen to the song above and respond again.

Also there was one link where Anil Biswas ji and Rajkumariji has this little debate going back and forth which was very entertaining and precious to me.

You're correct Varsha ji. "Subhan Allah" was probably not his best performance. I do like the tremors in his voice though and the utaar and chadhaav. Unke gaane mein thehraav bhi bahut hai.
There was another Talat song that he had performed in one of the finals (or was it mega-finals). That was "Phir wahi shaam wahi gham wahi tanhaayi hai". Again, superbly sung...

Any links to this song juggy? I heard all his songs. Did not find Rafi's songs in his voice as good as Talat's song. He has soft voice that is more suitable for Talat's blue mood songs...

We should all thank Namita ji and Raghav ji for having recorded these episodes (from what 10-15 yrs ago?) and then re-encoding and uploading these for our listening pleasure...

Another fabulous Talat song from Mukund!!!!!! I just heard it 3 times.....I don't remember hearing any other singers singing Talat songs so well in a loooong time (well I have heard Talat songs from many singers, believe me). What should I say --- MINDBLOWING....
