In a recent conversation with lyricist Javed Akhtar who is very busy these days, we bring to you the latest films he is working in. Javedsaab was not at the forefront of 2005 but with 2006 he seems to be warming himself up. There is JP Dutta's 'Umrao Jaan' and Karan Johar's 'Kabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna' releasing one after another that will surely find a place in the heart of the people. About Umrao Jaan he says, "It was a special challenge primarily because it was a remake. People still listen to songs from Umrao Jaan. I had to write poetry for mujras. In fact I wrote a whole song in pure Awadhi. Both the music of KANK and Umrao Jaan will be released at about the same time. And they're both so dissimilar!"

Recently Javed Akhtar and Himesh Reshammiya have also teamed up for the first time for 'Namaste London'. "Himesh will surprise everyone with this set of songs. All the tunes are done in the bandish tradition," Javed Akhtar wraps up.

Lookign fwd to the movie Umrao Jaan and its music.. The original one is a classic... Just love the movie and the songs esp 'Justajoo jiski thi', 'Yeh kya jagah hai doston' and 'Zindagi jab bhi teri bazm me'... Who is giving the musical score for Umrao Jaan this time?

Yes Its Anu Malik..And I think It will be a gud OST going by the track record of Dutta-Malik Combo..Refugee,LOC Kargil Had some terrific songs.

Refugee,btw,had won Anu his only National Award
