NIHIRA's CONCERT LINKS - new links !!!

Hi Friends,

This post contains audio and video links to all Nihira songs from the Amar Sangeet Concert. We have already posted links for "Mast Kalander", "Aaj jaane ki zid na karo" and Nihira and Parthiv's medley of old songs. We'll keep adding links to this post as the songs are uploaded.

Nihira started the concert by singing three numbers of R.D.Burman… "Kya jaanoon sajan", "Dum maro dum" and her trademark "I love you" which she sang in Challenge 2005. She was so comfortable and relaxed on stage, talking to the audience, the band, and even rocking a little. It was really nice to see this side of Nihira. She looked like she was truly enjoying herself, as you'll see on the video. (unfortunately, we couldn't tape the first song, so the links are for the next 2 numbers).

If you thought Nihira's performance of "Dum maro dum" and "I love you" was rocking, wait till you see this one!!! Here she's performing the first song that she says she did playback for – SEL's "Dhadak dhadak…" It's a really energetic performance, and she has done an excellent job as usual…

The next song was sung by Nihira at request - "Chupke se raat ke chaddar tale" from the film "Saathiya". She sang a few lines in Tamil at the end.

This is the last song of Nihira that we taped at the concert... "Sabse Alag"... She has given a nice introduction to the song herself, so I'll let her do the talking and singing… 😉

Thanks for writing immediately 😃 Yes, doesn't she look really sweet? I'm waiting to see your reaction after watching the video. Her performance is really good. Dileep thinks her rendition of "I love you" here is even better than on SRGMP.

Yes, I wish we could have too !!! But I told you what happened, didn't I? Dileep left the camera tapes in the car !!! 😕 😆So we missed the first song !!! But still, there are more to come... 😊

Yes, you're right about diction being so important. Nihira has very good diction - it came through so clearly in "Aaj jaane ki zid na karo"... Same thing is true with actresses - I love listening to people like Waheeda Rehmaan, Meena Kumar, Dilip Kumar, etc... Even Madhuri Dixit had good diction, but some new actresses of today have terrible diction.

I saw the video for Dum Maro Dam and I love you video clips you posted. They are wonderful. Nihira was surely in to her own eliments. Her singing was flawles and she was at ease with performance. All in all she excelled. I also saw her Duffliwale, first time and that was also very very good. I think SLB was impressed with her singing.

Varshadi, I agree with you both too – Nihira sang "I love you" even better in this live concert. I like the way she was conversing with the audience. Her confidence and comfort level on stage has really increased. I really feel that she can now do justice to any type of song.

Gudiya, thanks for appreciating the pictures. Some of friends are not able to download the songs or watch online because of slow internet connection. So I'm posting the pictures for them too 😊.

Dotdiddydot (Taranji) – thanks a lot for caring about Dileep's feelings. He was hesitating to post more song links of Himani after reading some comments. Because a lot of the big Himani fans have been driven out of the forum, there's not much feedback. But maybe they will watch the videos even if they don't respond. However, I do share some your feelings regarding Himani – She was not really in her element in this concert. She had some good performances, and some average ones. It seemed like she took it too lightly – the level of singing was nothing like "chittiyee" or "tere bin nahin jeena" or "baghban Rabb hai" in challenge. Thankyou so much for writing – it really helped a lot. Thanks to Varshadi too 😊

Govindji, you're absolutely right – Nihira was in her element in this concert. She really showed her versatility. You only watched Dafliwaale now? When did you start watching challenge? Or did you just miss a few episodes? The SLB episode was one of my favorites because its so rare to hear LP songs in these type of contests.
