Ujjaini and Aishwarya win Ek Main Aur Ek Tu | ||||
It was a night of pure entertainment as Banjyotsana/Sharib and Ujjaini/Aishwarya regaled audiences in Dubai, in anticipation of being crowned the winner. Till two hours before the results were announced, Banjyotsana/Sharib were in the lead. But, by the time the show came to a close, Ujjaini/Aishwarya had won the contest by 10,000 votes.
Running neck to neck in the past two weeks, the voting momentum increased with the events held at Delhi and Kolkatta. The jodis had performed to packed houses. As evident was the jubilation felt by Ujjaini/Aishwarya, it was absolute shock for Banjotsana/Sharib. It was a fight between the states of Kolkatta/Bihar and Assam/Rajasthan as the voting trends revealed very close margins for both jodis in these regions. Sharib's mother, who was a guest at the show, fainted on hearing the results and an ambulance had to be called to take her to the hospital. The team of the yet to be released film Corporate were present to cheer both jodis till the very end. Madhur Bhandarkar, Shamir Tandon, Bipasha Basu and Kay Kay Menon were present as part of Zee's tie up with P9. Also present at the event were many dignitaries and celebs from the Middle East. The jodis performances will remain etched in the minds of the nearly 10,000 plus audience who had come from all the states of the Middle East. There was a palpable air of anxiety as hosts Rohit Roy and Ishitta kept the audiences informed of the voting trends.
The stage was a specimen in craftsmanship, it was indeed a sight to behold as the each performance began. The event opened with the audio visual of the EMET journey. Groovy Guru Hariharan performs just after another audio visual is played of both Guru's Hariharan and Leslie Lewis.
The eliminated jodis of Twinkle/Vishwas, Joyeeta/Saptak and Sinchan/Irfan also perfomed to Ek Ho Gaye Hum Aur Tum, Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha and Humne Tum Ko Dekha respectively. Unfortunately, the other eliminated jodis could not make it to the finale, as their passports and visas were not in hand. Bipasha also co-hosted a segment with Twinkle/Vishwas and danced to a track from Corporate. Audiences came out of the show, with their eyes popping out in amazement at having heard the voices who had them glued to their television sets for the past 15 weeks. A special memento was given to Hariharan. The team of EMET also gave a special award to Twinkle/Vishwas as the Best Performer Jodi. Rohit and Ishitta mingled with friends and relatives of both jodis, sitting in the audience. "To be a true singer, there is always a need to show proper commitment, to have the vision and belief that there is a clear future. In my opinion, both these jodis have been groomed via this contest on being good singers and also in honing their skills to be good performers," adds Siingh. |
