Vinnie, both have different perspective. First one applies many times when we are in group & start talking & many times end up making assumptions say whatever just for fun (without thinking) & do not realize the consequences. (here we just talk)

Second one is sometimes when we do things and we may not realize that will hurt someone & we didn't do it for fun either but our actions unknowingly may hurt someone.

But both convey more or less same message.
