CITY GIRL Twinkle Bajpai is donning new hats—acting, modeling and compering—beyond singing. All set to host Antakshari on the small screen she will also be seen soon promoting a new beauty cream, in print ads and acting in a serial on Zee TV.

"The shooting for Dheeraj Kumar's Betiyan will start on July. I play a girl who is sixth amongst seven daughters and is an aspiring singer. I will relive my real life character," says the bubbly singer.

Has her focus shifted towards acting now? "Singing is first on my agenda. I never miss my riyaz and music assignments. But I am learning acting and dream of bagging a big role in films… probably in a Yash Raj film," she asserts.

Meanwhile, of course, Twinkle has been finalised to host Antakshari (earlier hosted my Anu Kapoor) and probably her co-host will be Allahabad boy Vishwas.

"In Ek Main Aur Ek Tu contest we had good chemistry. He is like my elder brother and we gel well," she says, adding that, "I have also recorded a duet Tum bin kaise rahein with Hariharanji for music director Ricky Raj which will be used either in Katha or Bapu Tere Desh Mein. Then, my mentor Ismail Durbarji has also fulfilled his promise and recorded a light semi-classical song Gumsum gumsum kyon hoon… with Vishwas".

Besides, she will be soon recording for Himesh Reshmaiyya in an Abbas Mastan flick, for Adesh Srivastava. Talks are also on for a Mahesh Bhatt film in which Ricky Raj has picked her for playback.

Doing shows with several music directors, Dubai and London tours lined up with Himesh, she will also be flying to the USA for an Adesh Srivastava show.

So what happened when she was voted out of the 'jodi' contest? "I got upset with the voting system and probably my emotional outburst made some people upset, but no regrets. I still got the best performer award," she says. "I am very lucky to get my professional training with such big music directors," she adds.

In Lucknow to perform at the Prerna Awards Nite, it's a welcome homecoming for Twinkle and time to freak out with friends before flying back to Mumbai.
Stars are certainly twinkling for her!

Twinkle should stick to acting and modelling. Should quit singing. Her pre recorded songs in the finals were awful.

hmm..sure she has the looks..her singing is energetic...but talking with that voice..?! 😕 woooaaahh hope she does well, but like I said..talking with that voice? her singing covers up the voice but its kinda hard listening to her talk..lol

According to Sharib & UA TV is the one jodi who gave them good fight & whom they thought will win this !!!

I hoep u ahve listened sharib's yesterday interview & today's UA interview in Zee...Sharib also mentioning abt hsi first fav Twinkle & teh reason he wanted Twinkle to be with him !!!

If TOP 2 feels like that then there must be something in TV ...though some complains abt her voice & all here

Anwyays she got a bright future...be it in singing or acting....She can do both too...HR Aadesh all wants her to be in their stage shows too !!!After makign soem money she can come with her own album too !!!

I know,one cannot go by what people say on these forums. There are experts out there to comment on singing and voice quality.
As a audience I can only say that TV sounded very good in almost their performances unlike other jodis who were not consistent....
regarding twinkle's voice, I think she has a husky voice but her singing was liked by Ismail darbar, other mentors in C2005 and GG's in EMEAT......rest of the lay persons can keep their opinions to themselves
