Now here's a pretty good-looking singer for you! Besides Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Twinkle has an offer from Balaji Telefilms to cast her in one of their serials. She hails from Lucknow where she is pursuing her undergraduation in Arts. Though becoming a singer is her prime objective, she also has a back up plan of taking the civil services exam. Now that's a talented civil servant for you!

I just want to perform to the best of my abilities. I'm from Lucknow. My parents have been very supportive.

I 've been learning music from a guru in Lucknow. But in Mumbai my guru is Ismail Durbar. He's like my father here. I can go to him with any problem. But of course I miss Mummy and Papa….

Besides playback singer I want to do stage shows. My guru Ismail Durbarji has promised me and all his shishya songs in his films. For me he has promised to compose a tune that blends thumri with the western style ..

In a gesture that takes you back to the stories of Kings and Queens, the King of filmy disco, Bappi Lahiri removed one of his many gold chains and gave it to the contestants of TV talent contest, 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa...Ek Mein aur Ek Tu'.

The show theme this week was Bappi Lahiri songs and he was also the special invitee on the show. The six contesting couples sang songs from Bappi Da's repertoire including, 'Intehaa hogayi intezaar Ki', 'Ye raat mein jo mazaa hai', 'Jalta hai jiya mora bheegi bheegi raaton mein', ' Yaar bina chain kahaa re' and 'Raat baaki baat baaki'.

Bappi Da seemed pleased with the singing talent on the show and praised almost all the contestants. But the song that truly moved him was 'Mujhe nau lakha dila de re' from the film 'Sharabi' that was sung on the show by contestants Twinkle & Vishwas. He said "It's a difficult song, but you sang very well. You reminded me of the recording of this song with Kishore Mama. Accha gaaya, Main aap dono ko dil se aashirwad deta hoon." And the aashirvad turned out to be one of his trademark gold chains.

At the end of the show, he removed one gold chain from his neck full of them and presented it to the couple. "I am a gold man as I consider gold very lucky. I would like to present a gold chain to the couple who performed the best today. I would like to give my gift to Twinkle & Vishwas, you deserve it." He had earlier invited the contestants to his house and had spent an entire day with the youngsters helping them to prepare his songs.

Bappi Da also sang his latest song from the film Taxi No. 9211, 'Shola hai ya hai bijuriya" and was joined by the judges, Hari Haran and Leslie Louise and show hosts, Shaan and Ishhita Arun.

Having been voted out when she was at the eighth place, however, there was no stopping Twinkle Bajpai. She is back with a bang as a hot contender for 'SaReGaMaPa Ek Main Aur Ek Tu'.

"We are back in the same groove and in the new format. The real test will begin after the voting round begins. This time we have more opportunity as a jodi will be made," says Twinkle who has gone for a makeover in the new series on the small screen.

An alumni of Emma Thompson, St Teresa Day College and now, an AGDC student, she has been a playback singer in a few Bollywood films. "Right now I am concentrating on playback and the new contest. I will try my best to win the title," says the Gemini.

But before signing off, she is all praise for Lucknowites. She says: "They have supported us a lot and I need there support again. It's a delight to be in my city and perform there. I was overwhelmed by the response I got at my performance at Anandi Water Park and I look forward to doing more such show in Lucknow."
