1. Guess the next number

77 58 49 45 29 27 23

The next number in the series is 15. The series goes like this

Next number in the series = Product of digits of the current number + 9

So 58 = 7*7+9, 49 = 5*8+9 and so on. So 2*3+9=15

2. There is only pen and paper available and nothing else on a round table of 9 accountants. Without disclosing one's salary, They need to find out their average salary.

The first accountant picks a random x-digit integer for some large x, adds his salary to it and writes the sum on a chit. The chit is passed around and all acountants keep adding their salary to it and pass on the sum to the next accountant. When it returns to the first accountant, he subtracts the x-digit integer, divides the resulting number by 9 to find the average salary

3. You have two ropes and each take 1 hour to burn completely. They burn at non unifrom rate.
How would you measure 15 minutes using these two ropes?

Burn both ends of the first rope + Burn one end of the second rope.

The first rope get completely burnt at the end of 30 minutes. At that time burn the second end of the second rope too.

The second rope (which has already burnt for 30 minutes), will burn for an extra 15 minutes (as now burning from both sides). Measure these last 15 minutes.


4. There are 100 closed doors. 1st person who comes, opens all doors.
2nd person changes the current state of every 2nd door (opens closed door and closes open door).
3rd person changes state of every 3rd door, starting from 3rd door. This continues till 100th person.
How many are closed doors by the end.

It is a complex situation that basically depends on finding out the number of prime numbers within 100, which will not be divisible by any of the numbers from 1 to 100 and hence, they will remain closed - and there are 25 such prime numbers below 100. So we will have 25 doors closed

5. To avoid getting killed by bear when a man he sees a bear approaching him, jumps from the top of a 20 storied building 🤢 (better way of dying maybe ).
A window cleaner observes that this falling guy took 2 seconds while crossing 18th floor which was 2.2 meters high.
So the question is.. What is the color of bear ?

We know, h = ut + 1/2*g*t^2. Here u (starting velocity at 18th floor) = (2*g*4.4)^(1/2) Substitute this value of u in the first eqn to get:

2.2 = (8.8*g)^(1/2)*2+1/2*g*4.. Solving for g will give us g = 9.83 m/sec^2 - the value of g at the north poll. Hence the color of the bear is white

6. A car has a journey of 78 miles to make.
The first half of the journey is uphill, and the second half downhill.
He averages 30 miles an hour to the top of the hill.
How fast must he go down the hill to average 60 miles per hour?

Total time to go uphill = 39/30 = 1.3 hrs (t = h/v)

Total time for the journey = 78/60 = 1.3 hrs

Total time for downhill = 1.3 - 1.3 = 0 hrs

So however fast he travels, he will never be abl to have an overall avg velocity of 60 miles per hr
