If you could go back in time, which historical figure would you like to meet and what would you say to him/her?

I will just modify your question a little and name someone who is no longer with us. I always wanted to meet Satyajit Ray in person. I grew up reading his books and fantacising 'Feluda' and 'Prof. Shanku'.. As a grown up girl, have always loved all his movies and keep discovering something new all the time in them. If I were to meet him in person, I would have asked him to create 'Shesher Kobita' on celluloid.. Not sure if you have read the book, but I guess only he could have done justice to the same😛

What is the one historical event you would like to change and why?

I would like to prevent the partition of India and Pakistan - I think it is one event that is costing our country the most. We have had 3 wars after that and the constant hatred still lingers.. Major part of the country's attention, resources and forces are diverted to the border today, all of which could have been used for more constructive ideas.😊 Also imagine, the cricket team we would have - simply unbeatable😛

Great thoughts.. I've often wished the partition had never occured myself. But then I've thought about it, it wouldn't have been practical. After partition, wars happened between two countries. If partition never occured, we would still be having the same wars, we'd just call it a civil war.

Despite the country being divided into two, and people apparently getting what they wanted, in both countries we still have inter-caste, inter-religious, and even inter-sectarian violence. I can only imagine how difficult it would have been to run a single country of 1.5 billion people.

Every day would have been a Gujurat. Sad, but true.

Of course, the cricket team would have been unbeatable. 😃
