U're right Adi - Deep jalaaye was a brilliant song... I had seen the movie long long back and vaguely remember the picturization also - the hero, some goswami, sings it in a temple on a stormy night.. awsome song

she was good in that sharabi number..she knows quite a few golden songs..I would have prferred Nihira singing to me..but...

I used to play harmonium with my Rabindrasangeet classes, but never liked that instrument...

Yeah..

In fact I think i had heard the song when i was quite young..there is a bengali song by sandhya mukherjee which my mom sings " patho chharo ogo shyam kotha raakho mor..based on desh raag". After listening to the deep jalaye number I was trying out the taan and it was quite similar to the Sandhya di's number and i told my mom about that..She was actually very happy with me that day😳
