Thanks for letting me of this topic, Qwestji! It is really nice to know people and cultures outside of India are taking interest in Indian musical instruments like sitar. I know one person in Western person in Chicago who is an excellent sitar, surbahar, dilruba, and tabla player. When I see people like Uwe Neumann, David Courtney, and the person I just mentioned from Chicago, it becomes even more inspiring and add another thought bubble to my daily practic (rather, the need to keep up with practicing daily).

Ragleela

Ragleela unifies the rich heritage of Indian Music and melody with the concept of modal occidental music and harmony.

Ragleela performs only original pieces, where Jean-Marc Hbert creates a densely woven modal pattern, E. Shankar brings in drive and groove and Uwe Neumann tells lyrical melodic stories until they unify in a thrilling climax.

Ragleela means the Leela (cosmic dance) of the Ragas.... or the "gathering of distinct personalities singing and dancing together (to create the Leela) to keep the planet rolling."

To listen to excerpts of our CD Ragleela Caravan you need a Real Player. You can download a free Real Player here.
