Hi Friends..
I know this is old news.. but read on if interested...
Musical team Jatin-Lalit split up!
Music is all about pulling the right chords, but when there's disharmony in the chords itself, what we hear is erratic cacophony, and not soul-soothing melodies. After having rendered some of Bollywood's most memorable tunes, the hit music composer duo, Jatin-Lalit are parting ways. With 'Fanaa', they hummed their last tunes together on a bitter-sweet note' leaving the music industry shell shocked. Talking about the split Jatin ruefully says,"Yes, we are going different ways, but I am not the least bit happy about it. We were expecting this since a long time, finally we've moved on. It's tough and painful too, but it's a part of life."
The other half of this musical team, Lalit is of the opinion that the perception of them as a brand name will undergo a big change. "We've become like a brand-name, so its will be difficult for people to understand that it's not the same anymore. A team can't produce brilliant work if one of their creative actions is getting hampered, so for the sake of better music, we'd rather go solo.
But I am hopeful as the industry has changed; even the working styles and attitudes have changed. If you are talented, there's ample work in the industry."
Any chances of building bridges over troubles waters? "Who knows, we are both brothers, and there might come a point that we're excited about working together again. It's not impossible," claims Lalit.
Jatin and Lalit might be singing different tunes now, but when it comes to their likes and dislikes in music, they hit the common note. They both draw inspiration from the music maestros R.D. Burman and Madan Mohanji. And they admire singers like Sonu Nigam, Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan.
With 'Fanaa' have they saved the best for the last? "Fanaa' is special because it is a Yash Chopra film, and Aditya Chopra's has such a brilliant understanding for music that it makes all our efforts worthwhile. About saving the best for the last - we've given some of the biggest musical hits in Bollywood, so of course we're hoping that our last film together makes an unforgettable mark," ends Lalit, on a an emotional note.
