I find it hilarious. My mother tongue isn't tamil either, yet I'm choosing to 'translate' tamil songs. But I understand some of these songs better now, than before.

In my opinion, Tamil songs have wonderful lyrics compared to Telugu - they just touch your heart. All the credit goes to the lyricists like Vairamuthu and Valee. Although Vairamuthu had been criticised for his share of silly lyrics like "Take it easy Urvashi", "Patti rap" kinda songs..
In telugu, after Acharya Atreye garu's demise we haven't seen a lyricist who could give such beautiful lyrics. Veturi garu comes close but has less consistency, which I am sure is due to commercial pressure in the industry too. I still love his lyrics for the song "Ee duryondhana dusshasana", I get goosebumps listening to it even now.

I'll leave that to you and Sri. I am a little out of touch with the latest songs, but would love to see some nice ones. Not too confident with the translating either, some of the words might go over my head.
