I would say "Piyu bole" is based on Raag Kalyan.

No idea 'bout its equivalent in Carnatic music.

Vinayak, Yes you are right...the instrument used is 'flute'...it is so melodious...kudos to this unknown 'flutist'....

so still not sure whether it is Pilu or Yaman or kalyan or Khamaj ... no worries, I will wait for some more authentic confirmation...so that I can go after the songs in that raag and download it onto my iPod...

The flutist is Naveen,a regular with rahman 😊

Thanks Arun, for giving the name....generally these expert musicians are never acknowledged and no one bothers to know about them...

You can listen to that flute interlude any number of times...kudos Naveen...
