You've made history!
Yes, it's quite something. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend the award ceremony because of a commitment out of Mumbai. Also, at an earlier popular awards ceremony, I was neither nominated for my music nor singing in Aashiq Banaya Aapne. I felt baffled. Aisa kyon kiya unhone? Filmfare revived my hopes. I decided to catch a flight back to Mumbai but it got delayed and reached at 11.30 p.m. However, my dad did go to the awards.

For the first time a music director won the best playback singer award…
Well, it doesn't mean that I see myself as a threat to the other playback singers. I do feel sorry that I didn't win the best music director's award. The award for the best playback singer is special because it's the first song that I recorded for a film. I don't think anyone else got an award for his first recorded song.

That phase is over. I've sung seven super-hit songs, the latest being Jhoom in Tom Dick & Harry which I predict, will be the biggest chartbuster of them all. I insist that I am not a professional playback singer. I'm a music director first. If I sing one out of six compositions, what's the problem?

Will you sing for other composers?
Only if A.R Rahman asks me to. I will not sing for anyone else. He is the best and said in an interview that Aashiq banaya aapne is his favourite track of the year.

How mean is Himesh?
This shows his upbringing and his dignity towards his profession in the music.
First of all he doesnot know how to praise good music. In challenge, except for vinit, he didnot praise other contestants who rendered good songs and not only that he didnot even praise his own gharana contestants like PAresh and ujjaini as they were not originally from his gharana? What a shame Himesh? No dignity towards music and you call yourself as guru. SHAME ON YOU for such act and after all this,you lost to Ismail and deboojit in Challenge 2005. Now next time dont create such TAMASHAS like topi shawl, lovestories etc. you will loose your dignity and will be the biggest looser in your career of music.

Now just because A.R. Rehman praised your music so called AASHIQUE BANAYA AAPNE, you call him that he is the best and you will sing only for him and not for other MDs. HOW MEAN MINDED you are...... What for you have got Filmfare award for best male singer? So bad you are and you didnot even deserve it. But still Filmfare organisers presented you with this trophy and you are not showing some dignity towards the profession.

HR, what I would advise you is that you have lost to SHANKAR EHSAAN LOY as a music director so better persue your career as a singer only and not as a MD. And donot say that you will sing only for those who praise you. IF you are into this profession then sing for everyone.
So forget being music director and start singing. Because there are better music directors then you.
