get ur facts right. 45% is not in the north. 30% of india's tax base is 1 city alone. that's right- mumbai. n i wld think that is the same %age for phone lines as well. remember it is the city of reliance n tatas where things work. n today, u have a lot of phone lines down south as well with IT. so start by getting ur facts right. if u r including the "chori" ka lines, u might be right but i am speaking abt the legit economy.

now obviously there were only 20L from south, only 70L from west. i guess they did not care. now if so many people watch hindi pgms in the north, y did they not vote in larger numbers? the 83% shows there were a bunch of highly-concentrated vinit supporters in the north. other than them, noone cld be bothered to vote for vinit. perhaps that's because they were not convinced that he is better, despite the fact he is from their region.
