I appreciate what u say but in India we have an organisation SPICMACAY which promotes classical music and culture amongst youth in schools and colleges.....you dont need to be forced to learn something....and lemme tell you, the way these great musicians come and explain while playing is really enlightening and informative for school kids. They spread their aura in a mesmerising manner to leave kids enchanted and wondering why they had missed out on classical music....they make it interesting for kids to get invloved.Just as u have a boring Maths teacher and a good oe who makes Maths interesting in a class room....

try attending a lec-dem ,if u get a chance and you will knw what am talking of

Oh I see. I did not know about this group. Thanks for the info! 😊

what are vedas...basically religious chants and shlokas....and you are wrong....mughal rulers got the musicians to sing as per their tastes and thats why we have different gharans in North (Hindustani Classical music)but we have just one purest form of Carnatic classical music in South only coz there it remained in temples and not brought into courts/darbars like in north.

I would like to write this quote .......

"Once a King asked a sage how to make sculptures of the Gods. The sage said, "Someone who does not know the laws of painting could never understand the laws of sculpture. Someone who has no knowledge of the principles of instrumental music cannot know the laws of dancing. Someone who does not understand the art of vocal music cannot understand the principles of instrumental music."

The origin of Indian music is said to be rooted in the Vedas. I think during the the times when mughals came it became influenced with the persian music.

To me, SRGMP is the only genuine program which brings out true singing talent but I must add here in haste, that the moment we give the measuring yardstick in the hands of JUNTA, we have defeated the purpose of conducting such talent search.

Before anything I think we need to change our mindset about music education at school level. Parents still consider music as timewaste.

yes that is completely true....they do consider it as timewaste because they think there are a lot other better things to do in our lives but don't realize that music is important also

They should be made to understand that a child can learn music too while studying.
