"We have recieved an amazing and overwhelming response to recall contestants who have been voted out by public voting system. We have decided to give another chance to ousted contestants, we owe this to our viewers who have made Saregamapa Challenge 2005 the best programme in its genere by defeating all so called idols. We are in the process of fine-tuning details and will make an in-show announcement in next few days." says Ashish Kaul, Senior Vice President, Zee Network. Incedently, Saregamapa Challenge 2005 has helped Zee TV to reach no.2 slot in the General Entertainment Channel rating. In the last 4 week period, Saregamapa Challenge 2005 scored a Gross TRP of 3.53 which is higher than that of Sony's Indian Idol at a gross TRP of 3.31 between 10/1/2006 and 27/1/2006. "The reason for sustained growth and popularity is due to the fact that Saregamapa Challenge 2005 has its objective very clear and defined in terms of offering a platform to real, hardcore, top of the line playback voices and not creating marketing chipmunks. It is only because of this objective that saregamapa as a platform and challenge 2005 as a series has given some of the best singers to the film and entertainment Industry that it has today. Saregamapa Challenge 2005 is and will always remain a platform for nothing but the best playback singers." Says Kaul. Saregamapa Challenge 2005 has seen many contentents get playback opportunities even as participants. The top bollywood bigwigs have thrown their weight arround the contestants of Challenge 2005. Some of the contestants have already sang for big banners and bagged contracts from producers/directors: • Himani has sung for film Chingari picturized on Sushmita Sen • 2 contestants have sung for Mithun Chakravery's film - Mimoh • Subhash Ghai gave open offer to Hemachandra to sing for Mukta Art • Hemachandra recently sang for Abhishek Bachan's forthcoming film, and Aadesh Srivastav's Alagh • Vinit sang for film Rocky picturized on Zayed Khan • Nihira Joshi sang for Dhadak Dhadak with Sunidhi Chauhan in Bunty and Bubli So far Sony has had to keep their idols in lime light by spending through their nose. All albums and opportunities have had to be borne by Sony and so far India has not seen their Indan Idol to get even a single significant playback opportunity. |
