Whatever opinions strong and otherwise that we have against all the singers we need to remember that they have been chosen through an audition conducted in various cities of India by established Music Directors if not genius (not all of them are musical geniuses (my opinion)). Then they went thru a elimination process again working with judges (barring a few were real Musical legends and geniuses. The Music Directors also put in number of hours to get this raw talent into a shape in which the world would like to hear them. Overtime the Guru Shishya relationship between the Music Directors and their batch of contestents seemed to have evolved and the Mentors looked forward for their wards trying to mould them in the best of the ways that they thought was best for them. Maybe some of the contestants were given a raw deal by the judges, mentors and the general public. They either chose the wrong type of songs or really did not appeal to the public as the Voice of India. The mentors tried everything especially when the competition became tough (last 12) and even had ridiculous "Pyaar" (more like cradle snatching) stories circulated all around trying to appeal to the poor senti public like us and garner votes for their wards. One person who stood out in all this was Ismail Durbar who voted as per the performance and did not think twice before berating his own challengers in front of the nation who was watching with great interest. I use the word nation but it should be Indians watching since we watched with and are still watching it with great Interst in the US of A. ID (as he is reffered to in this Forum) went to the extent of praising other contestants at the cost of his own (which I think was a bit harsh) unlike the other two who pegged their own wards till maybe the last two or three weeks of performances. the stories that other mentors generated with reference to their wards were pathetic for want of a stronger word. This made even genuine performances being ridiculed because the public in general became partial as is wont to particular performers and instead of impartially thinking and voting became a part and parcel of the mob mentality.

Ofcourse the exits of Nihira, Himani and Hemachandra seemed to be a part of a bigger plan but they were voted out and not sent out by anyone particular. Whether the voting was manipulated or underreported to prop up some other contestants is open to question. The three were singers par excellance and definitely have a bright future in front of them. Sharid, Paresh, Raktima, and Twinkle were definitely weaker than the lot that survived them ( I am saying this at the cost of risking the wrath of their fan club), personally I think Sharib though seemingly weaker has potential to do even better than even existing greats in this world Indian film playback singing. To an extent whether people agree with me or not I think Abhijit (who did not figure in the last twelve) was better in a certain genre than the finalists.

Coming to the East West North and South divide, India Ki Voice means India Ki voice, suppose for a minute Paresh would have been voted into the last two would he have beem India ki Voice or UK ki Voice after all he did come form the Uk, did not know any Hindi (till late into the contest) but sang pretty good. And if he was allowed to participate and did come into the last twelve and was considered a contestant for India Ki voice why is Debojit considered to be an outsider - he is after all born in India, brought up in India and has lived in India all his life and if his region or the region that he belongs to votes for him enmasse it is out of either love for him or just the fact that he belongs to them. Hemachandra was at a bit of a problem since his region unfortunately does not have enough viewership to vote him to be India Ki voice and the people for North and Middle are too caught up in their own selves to vote for Vinit enmasse and maybe have too many people to look up to as real or eel life heros. Of course HR as he is fondly referred to in this forum has made it more and more difficult for people to even think that his ward is likeable and a good singer and a overall a good humble person. If at the age of 17 he is like this than think what would happen to his giant ego and arrogance that he exudes (at first I thought it was overconfidence but now am certain the hype surrounding his name has made it arrogance) if he does make it as India ki Voice. And his Love Story is laughable for which they should deduct atleast 20 lac votes everytime they are computing total votes. It all seems to be made up. In contrast Debojit has soldiered on with support from ID and his voter base. In every democratic process everyone works with a voter base so it should be nothing new when Debojit has a voter base to fall back on. And if he were that bad as is made out in some of the forum comments then how come people like Pt Jasraj, Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, Jagjit Singh and other kept on moving him forward instead of disqualifying him at the outset. I think these people are more qualified to judge and promote a singer than all the members of this forum combined.

I feel that as of this day Debojit and Vinit are worthy opponents maybe just because they sang better than others ( which does not mean that the others were bad) on the day that mattered.

Please remember that they are the performers and we are the viewers and these young kids had the guts to go out and do what they did and that is why they deserve our kudos while we sit on our haunches and make sometimes rude and obnoxious comments using filthy language for or against some contestant or other, a right that we excercise just as a viewer or the public at large.

By the way AS, HR and the kind lady who reminded us about the India Ki voice and not Assam ki voice should be given an abject lesson in geography and should realize that Lataji is not Maharashtra ki voice, Rahman is not South ki voice and Rabindranath Tagore was not bengal ki voice and neither was Kishore Kumar - all of these come from different regions but represent India's voice. SO there.

I am new to this forum and have put in my second post and it does seem too long, and if I have hurt any sentiments of fans of particular participants so be it but like other I have written what I felt.

Great job dude. I am also from USA I don't know how people in india like HR and Vinit BS talks and how they vote for them? I guess they have lots of money to spend on SMS to promote BS or they have lost all senses. Now I understand why my parents use to sau music of their days (50s and 60s 70s) is real music..

👏

Agree with all your points except the one shaded in bold. I am a debo fan, but I don't think it's always his singing that carried him forward. Same with Vinit, Paresh, Himani, etc.. Remember, public doesn't always go by singing (depends on which sector of the public u'r looking at - some are learned in music and some aren't). In that case Sharib, Nihira or Hema wouldn't have been out and Rajiv would have been out after his first performance (which was by far the worst performance in agniparisksha). yet rajiv survived for 4 rounds and almost got nihira/ hema eliminated (it was only due to the controversial "tie" that saved them)

other than that, agree with u 😊

Nice analyis and well written and almost everything is correct with the exception of shaded one.

I do not know why everybody is saying people from south do not watch SRGMP, Can somebody answer me how can vote from south counted as 20 lakhs from 4 states(AP main, Karnataka little bit, almost negligible from TN and Kerala) in comparison of North's 25 lakhs which comprises 8 states with people speaking Hindi. Total difference of vote is just 5 lakhs.

I think this south viewership issue should be died by now, because it is utterly illogical. Otherwise I will suspect about the 20 lakhs votes in favor of Hema.

BRILLIANT POST 👏

But you were totally wrong to suggest that RAKTIMA was weaker than the others. She should have been third in the CHALLENGE 2005 as the only girls who were better than her were NIHIRA & HIMANI.

I agree 100%.In country like India and US too... PPL run the government elected by public....very well.
In every democratic process everyone works with a voter base..........very truely said.
Debo deserves this. We can not bear injustice to a person just bcoz he came from the distant region. He is Indian,Indian and nothing but Indian not Assamesse or NE Indian.

VOTE for Debo...these last days with more effort.
BTW--- I am also -NRI from US--from Gujarat origin

I also believe the same for Raktima. If she had a chance she could have given tough fight to Nihira.Of course no one can bit Nihira.I have been wathing her since last two years in SRGMP.But I think it is her bad luck that is not able win..

I remember the SRGMP-show before a yr or so.Arpita Mukherjee--Fame Gurukul--- was her oponent and Jagajit Singhji was a Judge. Both Arpita and Nihira performed very well. But just bcoz Arpita also performed very well--Nihira got very tensed and made silly mistake and lost.Even Jagajit Singhji also made the comment-one should not loose the confedence just bcoz-opponent is also very strong. As he also liked Nihira very much-but he gave points only on the performance of the day.And Arpita declared winner.
