- u've got some kind of internal einsteinian clock or what? Music is not a bunch of math problems that someone grades and adds up to get a total score. could u even begin to define what YOU or EVERYONE else means by "better" "singer". Its the same "problem" as trying to determine which of ur numerous gfs (bfs?) is more beautiful. someone else can come to a different conclusion and that doesnt mean they r biased. like they say, some like it hot, some like it cold 😉

btw, since u r so convinced that hema is such a singer that everyone shld say wah-wah to, y not have him try to pick up on English n try 4 western music scene? more money there. yaar, there r so many of us with good anglicized accents n excellent english who will never make it in the western music/ broadcasting world for the slightest of accents we still retain.

music or anything else 4 that matter is not just about technical skill or mastery. same as beauty is not just a sum of different parts. u cld have the most beautiful eyes, hair whatever, yet the total package might not appeal. it is a lot more intangible than that....

all this is not to put anyone down- it is to just explain y v intelligent learned musically-cultured people can very well reach different judgments.

Hi,

Everyone is against HR b'coz he hypes vinit...OK agreed. but don't u guys see how ID is creating scene...He said that he alwayz support good singers even if he is from other gharana...but I don't think so do u guys really think debo is better singer then hemu? but he did not speak a word when hemu was eliminated...yeh sab kaine ke baatien hai...samaj gaye.

btw, what is "better"? someone who has technical mastery or someone who appeals more? answer to first qn is simple n can be easily found out. answer to second is subjective n depends on the ears of the listener. so stop acting that hemu is the best thing ever n shld necesarily apeal to everyone. reality is folks from every region r really voting 4 their "own". ARENT YOU?

what ID thought of hemu, he proved that by giving 10/10...and he would always have done that for a good singer...whether or not connoiseurs like SG are around....he would always do that whether or not his candidate got the same fair treatment or not.
I remember in one of the earlier episode, when joyita got the most ungenerous comment by other mentors, he requested the judges to go softly on her saying -" she has the potential to win the contest, her voice is that good, so please consider her voice also and not just todays performace".

That was a mentor speaking for a competitor gharana candidate who has faltered in todays performance....thats ID for you.

The act of ID which is being termed as "drama" was nothing but an emotional outburst of a fair and honest person caught in cheap manipulation by his opponents.

who says debo was not consistent??? Mentometer's rating for debo was ALWAYS consistent...4 and 6.
The same performance was rated as 9 by JL....and it was this injustice that provoked ID to quit.

And to those who think that this was a drama by ID...to them i have to say....thik hai, for arguments sake man liya yeh drama hi tha, to public ne jamkar sath kyo diya?? (translated to highest vote)
Thats because they could see through the injustice done to debo....and therefore empathised with debo.
Ek drama to walk out ka bhi hua tha....but did public empathise with it???
I agree, having emotional outburst, leaving the show and then coming back again is not the best professional behavior.....but in my opinion being unprofessional is far less a crime than misuse of your position. ( by that i mean constant misuse of mentometer by AS and HR).
Yeh alag baat hai ki agar un mentors ko pata hota ki such treatment will backfire on them, that those who werent supporting debo will also start so....that debo himself would take it positively and do better and better.....wo aisa kabhi nahi karte.

As far as Hemu and Debo go - it is pretty hard to choose between the
two.

I find Hem is the better singer - without any doubt. But, if I had the
choice between them, in some corner of me I still think I might vote for
Debo.

Why?? For the same reason that even though I think Manna Dey is the
better singer, I still love Kishore Kumar. Or why, even though Sonu Nigam
is the better singer technically, a corner of me loves Sukhwinder - who is
far less pakka on sur.

There's a certain vulnerability & paagalpan in the clearly less technically
able people (yes, I include Kishore-da in that category and before
Kishore-da fans come after me - I LOVE Kishore-da as much as any of
you - but the fact is he is not as technically accomplished as Manna Dey).
That vulnerability touches your soul. Or at least mine.

Of course, this only applies to light music - not classical. And don't get
me wrong, I am not saying in the least that these kids can be compared
with the greats - no way!! But there is a parallel.

Debo is one singer who, when he loosens up, gains confidence and starts
having fun with his music - if he can give into that paagalpan a bit, but
still keep control - I think he can really touch the heart.
